Nano Aquatics Because size DOES matter... The Worldwide “Rage” of planted aquariums has seen a dramatic increase in popularity here in South Africa the last few years.

Whatever the reason, tanks towards the smaller scale are the size of choice for these aquatic gardens, mostly around the 30-80 Liter mark of which the smaller (or Nano) tanks are usually for office desks or small end tables. Thanks to companies like The Planted Tank and Betterweather we have world-class equipment and quality plants to choose from for these planted tanks, but quality livestock stil

l remained an issue of concern. Commonly found fish at pet stores (most barbs, catfish, chiclids, livebearers and even some tetra’s) proved too destructive for these delicate underwater pieces of art, which opened up the import market. Unfortunately, a lot of (imported) fish don’t travel well. Be it from poor breeding environments in outside ponds pumped full of anti-biotics, inbreeding, disease, water chemistry, ammonia-poisoning from long flights…the list is endless. The necessity arose for an alternative. Quality, tank-bred livestock of nano fish for planted aquariums in South Africa. Nano Aquatics was born…

Nee additions to our shrimp tanks...we needed more "blacks"...so ordered some S-Grade Fancy Tigers and proper Panda Bee Shrimp from our importers. Has been the longest 7 weeks of my life waiting for these bad boys since we initially ordered them...but man are they worth the wait!!
