What do these images have in common?

Throughout the orange there is connective tissue, in between each segment, and a tough “skin” encasing each individual smaller segment called vesicles.

This method of connecting and encasing groups of cells is mirrored in the horse.
The fascia encases and connects groups of muscles. This connectivity goes right down to a cellular level and right up to create large fascia like the thoracolumbar or gluteal fascia. The fascia also creates lines through the body creating myofascial kinetic lines.

Every biological entity is made up of systems upon systems, existing in symbiosis for the collective good. Even our own evolutionary story is one of endosymbiosis. Bacteria interacting with other organisms to create more powerful systems, held together by “some kind” of connective tissue.

How does the riders myofascial system affect the horses?

Myofascial lines are one way to understand continuity. They are like a map, navigating through the body. This continuity extends between rider and horse. Below is an image of the human back line and the horses dorsal line.

3 dimensional thinking expands this idea, and in this upcoming webinar we will focus on how activation of the rider’s body and lines can affect the horse’s body or vice versa.
