LOVING Johannesburg so far. Cannot wait to get started tmrw. Have so much juicy stuff to tuck into. For example, did you know that when pet owners mix dry food with real food 50/50, the pets consuming the stuff have significantly less heavy metals in their body?
Know why?
Because ultraprocessed pet food is choc full of these toxic elements.
I'll be presenting this study from a years back - entitled "Toxic element levels in ingredients and commercial pet foods" they analysed over 100 brands of ultraprocessed pet food and found
100% of dog foods and 86% of cat foods were above the FDA MAXIMUM TOLERABLE LIMIT for mercury
81% of dog food and 32% of cat foods were above the FDA MAXIMUM TOLERABLE LIMIT for lead
32% of dog foods tested and 11% of cat foods were above the FDA MAXIMUM TOLERABLE LIMIT for alluminium
Oh and uranium (96% of dog foods, 86% of cat foods) and vanadium (75% of dog foods, 29% of cat foods) were found in there too.
OOPS!
But I won't throw out issues without also offering up solutions. There is not only an easy way to check your pets heavy metal levels but there are also easy enough solutions for their removal
