โ I was asked to share Daisyโs story, and Iโm so grateful for the opportunity.
In May 2023, we took our beautiful girl in for what we thought was a routine dental after noticing a small area of redness in her mouth. Instead, we left believing we were going to lose her. We were told it was likely cancer and advised that euthanasia might be the kindest option.
But something in my heart told me that wasnโt the whole story. Daisy still ate, played, and wanted to be close to us. So we chose to love her for whatever time we thought we had left.
Over the next three years, her condition worsened. She drooled constantly, lost weight, and slowly stopped being the vibrant little menace we knew. When I was finally able to afford further treatment, we brought her to Durbanville Animal Hospital.
From the beginning, we were met with kindness, compassion, and a team that truly listened. After a dental procedure and biopsies, we finally had an answer: it wasnโt cancer. It was severe feline stomatitis.
After dental surgery to remove most of her teeth, the change was almost immediate. Daisyโs pain disappeared, her appetite returned, her coat became soft again, and her playful, mischievous personality came back.
Durbanville Animal Hospital didnโt just treat a diseaseโthey gave our family hope and gave us our Daisy back. We will be forever grateful. โ
