We call them our Local Heroes!! The dogs that patrol our streets at night from . Meet our friends working hard to keep us safe. Here they are at our parlour for their free monthly spa session as a token of our appreciation. They get a wash and a lovely massage, we brush their teeth and keeping those paws and toe nails in tip top shape! Thank you friends! You deserve all the spoils!

🐾 No one who loves their dog should have to choose between feeding them and protecting them ❤️🙏

For many members of our homeless community, the only love they know has four paws. Four paws that curl up with them on cardboard beds, 4 paws that follow them faithfully, ask for nothing—and give everything.

And that love goes both ways. A homeless pet owner will spend their last R10 on food—not for themselves, but for their dog. But love alone can't prevent disease. Love can’t stop a litter of puppies from being born into hardship. And love can’t cover the R900 needed to vaccinate, sterilise and microchip a best friend 💔

That’s where we step in.

The Cape Town Pet Upliftment Project, a partnership between the Cape of Good Hope SPCA and AtFrits Dog Hotel & Daycare Centre, aims to bring essential care directly to pets of the homeless—because on the streets, love isn't the problem, access to care is.
