There isn't a worm under your dog's tongue.

This is actually a piece of connective tissue called a frenulum. It holds the tongue in place, and we have it, too.

If you lift your tongue, you will be able to feel this band of tissue.

If you cut this piece of tissue, the tongue no longer works as it should. A dog whose frenulum has been cut can starve, dehydrate, or even bleed to death.

Cutting your dog's tongue is cruel and causes pain and trauma. Please don't do it.
