Ch Colorkats Just Joseph and Ch RU*Unicum Otilia of Dark Moon (IMP) are expecting to become proud parents at the end of September! 🧡🤍🐾

Sometimes cats have a mind of their own! 😄 Otilia’s first choice of husband wasn’t quite ready to take on the role of dad just yet, so we had to change our plans.

But we’re 𝗩𝗘𝗥𝗬 𝗘𝗫𝗖𝗜𝗧𝗘𝗗 and can’t wait to see what this pairing will bring! 🥰🧡🤍

We are incredibly excited to share that 𝗗𝗮𝗿𝗸 𝗠𝗼𝗼𝗻 𝗪𝗮𝘁𝘀𝗼𝗻 and 𝗖𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗿𝗸𝗮𝘁𝘀 𝗝𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗝𝗼𝘀𝗲𝗽𝗵 have both received invitations to attend 𝗦𝗔 𝗜𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗲 𝗖𝗮𝘁 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 this September!

Also representing the Dark Moon family at this national show will be 𝗗𝗮𝗿𝗸 𝗠𝗼𝗼𝗻 𝗤𝘂𝗮𝘀𝗮𝗿, owned by Anene, and 𝗗𝗮𝗿𝗸 𝗠𝗼𝗼𝗻 𝗙𝗶𝗿𝗲 𝗙𝗼𝘅, owned by Tessa.

What an incredible honour it was to attend 𝗦𝗔𝗖𝗖 𝗖𝗮𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗬𝗲𝗮𝗿 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 at the beautiful Belmond Hotel, Mount Nelson on Saturday! It was the perfect way to conclude the 2026 SACC show season.

We are beyond proud to share our results:

Placed 𝟭𝟮𝘁𝗵 𝗔𝗱𝘂𝗹𝘁 𝗘𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗿𝗲 overall – our highest-ever COTY placing in this category.

With just a few days to go until 𝗦𝗔𝗖𝗖 𝗖𝗮𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗬𝗲𝗮𝗿 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲, we're taking a moment to reflect on how far we've come. ❤️

From attending our very first Cat of the Year as qualifiers in 𝟮𝟬𝟭𝟴, to qualifying almost every year since, we couldn't be prouder of what Dark Moon has achieved.
This year, we are incredibly honoured to have 𝟮 𝗵𝗼𝗺𝗲-𝗯𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝗾𝘂𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗲𝗿𝘀 representing us:

Also proudly representing 𝗗𝗮𝗿𝗸 𝗠𝗼𝗼𝗻 is Watson's half-brother, 𝗦𝘂𝗽𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗲 𝗣𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗶𝗲𝗿 𝗗𝗮𝗿𝗸 𝗠𝗼𝗼𝗻 𝗤𝘂𝗮𝘀𝗮𝗿 𝗥𝗤, owned by 𝗔𝗻𝗲𝗻𝗲 𝗘𝗻𝗴𝗲𝗹𝗯𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗵𝘁, who has qualified as one of the 𝗧𝗼𝗽 𝟴 𝗪𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻 𝗖𝗮𝗽𝗲 𝗔𝗱𝘂𝗹𝘁 𝗡𝗲𝘂𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘀.

Set against the most spectacular backdrop, this promises to be another unforgettable celebration of the very best of the South African cat fancy.

✨ 𝗞𝗜𝗧𝗧𝗘𝗡 𝗨𝗣𝗗𝗔𝗧𝗘 ✨
For everyone who has been asking about our upcoming litters, these are some of our plans for the season ahead! 🐾

If all goes according to plan, we're hoping to welcome new kittens from September/October onwards. 🐱🩷

As always, nature has the final say, and we will post updates as time goes by. ✨

We have been absolutely overwhelmed by the response to Athena's post and would like to thank everyone who enquired, shared her story, and expressed an interest in giving her a loving home. ❤️

We believe we have found a purrfect match for Athena, and she is due to move to her new family in two weeks' time, once they return from their holiday. 🏡🐾

Should anything change and the adoption not proceed as planned, we will be in touch with the next suitable family.

We're looking for a special new home for Athena (Dark Moon Octavia) from our O2 litter (Akella Leader Yasmin & Dark Moon Kali).

Athena returned to us about a month ago after we explored various options to improve her living situation. Unfortunately, she was being bullied by other cats in her home and, despite a consultation with an animal behaviourist, it became clear that she would be happier in a calmer, less stressful environment.

A few words from her mum, Moaaza:
"This has been an incredibly difficult decision, but Athena is no longer happy or relaxed in my multi-cat home. She deserves a secure, loving home where she can feel safe, be spoiled rotten and enjoy all the attention she loves. She is a gorgeous Maine C**n with a sweet nature, loves treats and human company, and would thrive in a quieter home."

🐾 Preferably without very young children (cat-loving tweens and teens are welcome).

❤️ Our priority is finding Athena the perfect forever home. A home check and adoption process will apply, and a rehoming fee is required to help ensure she is placed in a safe and loving environment.

Athena is currently in Cape Town with the rest of the Dark Moon clan while we search for her perfect match.
