Our dedicated K9 Rangers recently received specialized dental care worth over R45,000, generously sponsored by Hill's Pet Nutrition with professional treatment by Cape Animal Dentistry Services at Phabeni in the Kruger National Park.

We are incredibly thankful for the care and support of Dr. Roxanne Emslie and Sr Kelly Spence as well as Hills Pet Nutrition, with special thanks to Dr. Guy Fyvie and Sister Brigid Goudie.

A heartfelt thank you also goes to Platorand Animal Clinic's Dr. Jacqui Hooten, Sr. Ali Du Toit and Jacqui Janse van Rensberg for assisting with equipment and logistics, and to the K9 Unit of SANParks for providing the venue.

The first Planmed Verity® VET cone-beam CT scanner in Africa was installed at the Cape Animal Dentistry Service in Cape Town, South Africa.

The installation was followed by a comprehensive user training of the Cape Animal Diagnostic Imaging staff, which included both scanning clinical patients for proper diagnoses as well as Romexis software training. The team was amazed by the ease of use and the image quality of the CBCT device, which exceeded all their expectations.

We are pleased to announce the addition of a dedicated Veterinary Cone Beam CT scanning service at Cape Animal Dentistry Service, 78 Rosmead Avenue, Kenilworth. The Verity Vet CBCT provides excellent resolution of orofacial, nasal and dental imaging as well as joints. Reporting is undertaken by a veterinary diagnostic imaging colleague. Today the CADS team had an introduction to Dentsply Sirona's Primescan and Cerac systems. Amazing!!

We took our prepared specimens with us and learned how to acquire the 3-D scans, set margins, model the teeth, have the crowns "milled", "fired" and "glazed". We then fitted the final products ready to be cemented in place.

We plan to have some patients lined up soon.
