Pretty 24 year old boy Diablo is a SAPS mounted unit horse.
Diagnosis of lesions on the Superficial digital flexor tendon. Vet prescribed shoe for palmer support while on stable rest.
Forging and shoemaking is an essential, fundamental skill necessary for a farrier to have.
Especially with loadshedding handicapping a farrier's ability to fabricate a shoe with a welding machine.
Shoemaking is not just tradition. It is a basic, essential skill every farrier needs to practice in order to be able to try and help every horse that needs assistance.
