Meet Amy and Rain, two incredibly sweet pups from the same household, both victims of a heartbreaking incident. They were both attacked by another dog, resulting in traumatic injuries to their eyes.

As a result of their injuries, both Amy and Rain have been admitted for enucleation surgery—a procedure to remove a damaged or non-functioning eye. It's not something any pet owner ever wants to face once, let alone twice in a single day for two beloved companions.

Through it all, these two brave souls have shown remarkable strength.

Please send them your love as they begin the healing process. 💕 These pups have been through so much—but we know dogs have a way of bouncing back stronger than ever, and with a little extra love, Amy and Rain will too.

A heartfelt thank you to Yvonne Clayden for your generous donation of Nexgard for our sweet boy, Wh**ey! 💙 Your kindness will make a real difference.

There has been a significant improvement in his injured leg, and we are so happy with his progress.

We’ll continue treating him until he’s fully healed and healthy enough for sterilisation. When we visited him today, he was in great spirits — tail wags and all! 🐶✨

Thank you again for helping us give Wh**ey the care he deserves. 💖

We managed to get a kennel to Voete and Lady, two of our Bonteheuwel dogs, just before the cold front arrives in Cape Town. A huge thank you to Giving is Living- Cape Town for providing them with shelter — before this, they had no protection from the elements. Now they’ll stay dry, warm, and safe. 💙

We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert for their incredible support of our animal welfare efforts over the years.

Your recent donation of dog food, treats, and warm blankets is just the latest example of your generosity and compassion. These much-needed supplies will make a real difference in the lives of the animals in our care, bringing them comfort, nourishment, and joy.

Your ongoing support means the world to us — and to every paw we've been able to help along the way. Thank you for standing with us in our mission to give animals the love and care they deserve.

This week, as part of our ongoing sterilisation project, we’ve helped even more animals take a step toward a healthier, safer life.

One paw at a time means one more life improved—and one tiny step closer to reducing the overwhelming number of unwanted animals.

Every small action adds up. Every surgery means fewer litters born into uncertainty. And every animal we help is a reminder that even the smallest step can make a big difference.

Together, we’re creating lasting change—one paw at a time. 🐾💙

When we arrived at Wh**ey's home to collect him for sterilisation, it quickly became clear he needed much more. He was coughing, and his leg was badly injured from a dog attack.
Because of the highly contagious kennel cough we could not transport him to our hospital and his owner had no way to get him there either, so we brought the hospital to him 💙
We returned to his home and treated his painful, swollen leg and started him on medication for kennel cough. Through it all, he was brave and sweet.
Every life matters and we never turn away from an animal in need.

A warm and heartfelt thank you to Africa for their generous donation of fleecy blankets through their 'Warm Hearts, Warm Paws' initiative. These soft, cozy blankets will bring much-needed comfort to the animals in our hospital as they rest and recover. Your continued kindness and support mean the world to us—and to every furry patient in our care. Thank you for making a difference, always! 🐾💙

Today we had the chance to lend a hand to someone truly special – Meg from Megs Mutts Rescue, who has been doing incredible work in the informal settlement of Bonnie Town.

Meg has dedicated herself to building trust in this community and making sure that the animals here are loved, cared for, and most importantly – sterilised. Thanks to her tireless efforts, most of the animals have already been helped... she just needed a little support with the last few.

That’s where we came in. We were more than happy to assist with collecting the remaining animals and getting them booked into our hospital for sterilisation.

👏 Well done Meg, for the compassion, consistency, and connection you've created in Bonnie Town. Your work is a reminder that real change happens one paw at a time. 🐶🐱💙

Thank you to our donors who help us to better the lives of animals in underserved communities ❤️

This week, we sterilised, vaccinated, and dewormed 10 dogs from Bonteheuwel 🐶✨

The majority of these dogs belong to the local 'trolley guys' — individuals who are often seen with their dogs by their side as they move through the area. Whenever we spot them, we take the opportunity to offer free care: sterilisation, vaccinations, and deworming.

But it’s not just about medical treatment — it's about education, trust, and compassion. By building relationships with these dog owners, we create a path to better care and brighter futures for their animals.

Small strides that make a big difference. ❤️🐾
