And here I was thinking that January was going to be a record quiet month due to our closure on the 28th but I was mistaken!

A heartfelt THANK YOU to our wonderful clients who chose to support us right to the end. Our three groomdays were bumper to bumper and our daycare and accommodation schedules were filled to capacity every day since the 3rd January.

I am humbled and deeply grateful that we can bow out on a high note feeling that we are loved, valued and that we will be missed.

Up until this Tuesday we will make the last of our stock available at give-away prices as we are now in the final days of packing up and preparing our premises for handover.

Our grooming includes the full pamper - bath, brush, cut, shave, trim, mani, pedi and even the unmentionable…..anal gland cleanse

All short haired dogs (Boston, Frenchie, Chihuahua and similar) ~ R130

Small dogs with long hair (Yorkie, Maltese, Pekes, Poms and similar) ~ R150

Medium dogs with long hair (Schnauzers, Spaniels, Poodles and similar) ~ R170

Payment in cash on arrival

Please provide clear grooming instructions the day PRIOR to grooming as we have to be as organised as possible - these are three VERY BUSY days

It was a remarkable holiday season for the Doggie Day Mother - At Home Care Team. The service is only in its second year and during the past six weeks we’ve cared for a total of 33 much loved pets in the comfort of their own homes.

A huge HIGH FIVE and THANK YOU to our Carers & Companions who made themselves available and to all the clients who trust us to care for their pets and their homes. Its a great honour and privilege ❤️

I sometimes wonder why dogs are so good to us.
We don’t deserve it, not really. We’re flawed, selfish creatures, stumbling through life, yet there they are, offering us something pure, something real.
They love us without conditions, without asking for anything in return, just happy to be by our side. Maybe it’s because they see something in us we can’t see in ourselves, a goodness we’ve forgotten or buried under layers .
They don’t care about our mistakes, our shortcomings they just see the person who feeds them, who takes them for walks, who sits quietly beside them in the dark. And somehow, they make us better, just by being there. They remind us that there’s still something worth loving in this messy, chaotic world. Dogs don’t hold grudges, they don’t judge—they just give.
And maybe that’s the lesson we’re too blind to learn: that being good isn’t about perfection, it’s about showing up, day after day, with a heart wide open, no matter how many times it gets bruised.

Oh yes, its that time of the year when days and dates become quite blurry! 😜

However, time (and month end) waits for nopawdy so kindly take a moment to advise us of your pooch’s care needs for January.

Just a recap for ease of reference -

Its business (daycare and accommodation) as usual until our closure on Tuesday, 28 January.

Our last Bath & Toothbrush Day is scheduled for Friday, 10 January and our last Groomdays will take place on 21, 22 and 23 January. I predict that these days are going to fill up quickly so be sure to reserve a spot as space is limited.

Nostalgia has been my constant companion these past few weeks.

I delved into the DDM photo archives to bring you some happy memories of the DDM DoggieMoms over the past 11 years.

How incredibly blessed I’ve been to have ladies of their remarkable calibre as part of the team. They poured heart and soul into caring for and loving pooches as if each and every one were their own.

I am very happy to say that several of these lovely ladies will continue to form part of the DDM At Home Care Team so the spirit of care, love and excellence will continue.

Here’s to Ingrid, Jess, Sheree, Kimberley, Aimee, Melissa, Tania, Shannon, Collette, Nadine, Erika, Mia, Amy, Shantey, Maddy and Amber.

I appreciate you and the huge contribution you made to DDM and her legacy ❤️

The days (and dates ahead)…..

As most of you know, DDM Daycare and Accommodation will be closing her doors permanently on the 28th January 2025.

A very BIG THANK YOU to all our loyal clients who continue to support us. Your support enables me to settle our monthly expenses such as rent, services, cleaning, tax obligations and most importantly the team’s salaries.

We will have our last Bath & Toothbrush Day on Friday, 10th January and three more groomdays - 21st to 23rd January.

We will continue to provide daycare and accommodation up until the 28th January after which we will dismantle, clean up and cart away - preparing the house for handover on the 31st January. On that day I will lock the door through which hundreds of excited pups entered over the span of 11 happy and fruitful years.
