Dogs have up to 300 million scent receptors (we’ve only got about 6 million!) meaning they experience the world through smell in ways we can’t even imagine. So when you feed fresh, natural ingredients, you’re speaking your dog’s biological language.

Cats are what we call obligate carnivores, meaning they must eat meat to survive and thrive. Their bodies are designed very differently from ours (and even from dogs!).

👉 Why no veggies?
Cats don’t produce the digestive enzymes needed to break down plant matter efficiently. While dogs can make use of small amounts of veggies, cats simply can’t convert plant-based nutrients into a form their bodies can use.

👉 Key nutrients from meat:

Taurine – essential for heart, eye, and brain health.

Vitamin A – cats cannot convert beta-carotene (from plants) into usable Vitamin A, they need it preformed from animal sources.

Arachidonic acid – an essential fatty acid only found in animal fat, vital for skin and coat health.

✨ This is why a balanced raw diet that includes meat, organs, and bone is the best way to give your cat everything they need, without unnecessary fillers like grains or veggies.

So, while your dog might enjoy some pumpkin or spinach, your cat’s “superfood” will always be meat.😼

A big part of raw feeding success is portion control, feeding your pet the right amount based on their ideal body weight (not just their current weight). This helps pets who need to lose or gain weight reach a healthy size safely.

Here’s a simple guide:

🐾Cats: Usually 100g to 200g a day divided into two meals. 250g to 300g for a fully grown Maine C**n!

🐾Puppies: 4–8% of their ideal weight per day, split into three meals. (For giant breeds, use 3–6%.)

Adult Dogs:

🐾Small to large breeds: 2–4% of ideal weight per day, split into two meals.

🐾Giant breeds: 1–3% of ideal weight per day, split into two meals.

🐾Senior Dogs: 1–3% of ideal weight per day, split into two meals.

We recommend starting in the middle of the range and adjusting after about two weeks based on how your pet looks and feels.
