Pet food factory background

JCW Petfood has been involved in the manufacture, distribution, and marketing of the WARRIOR & YORK ranges of petfood since 1996. We added the YORK SUPER range at the end of the last century when we identified a need for a premium pet food range. The ranges now consist of three adult dog foods, two puppy foods, and two cat foods which vary in composition and price and can cater to the needs of any dog or cat.
JCW Petfood manufactured and packed for various other brands of petfood for many years. These brands included Vets Choice, Afgri brands (Lek-a-lik & Jock), Friskies, and Alpo. It was the first port of call for many manufacturers if they wanted to introduce a new brand or when they had difficulties to produce. This practice was stopped in 2008 when it was decided to concentrate on building our own brand with our own products.
The company is owned by Chris van Heerden and Henk van Heerden and has been successfully managed by them for many years.

Pure Pets - Summary

Pure Pets is owned and operated by Christov van Heerden and Vincent van Schalkwyk and the operation is based in Woodstock, Cape Town.

During the Covid 19 lockdown, we got our fur-baby, Coco Chanel the Cocker Spaniel. Being familiar with the York Super dog food we decided to raise here on it. The results were fantastic. She does not suffer from any skin allergies or excessive itching and everyone always comments on her healthy shiny coat.

Seeing as the York Super dog food was not available in the Western Cape, we decided to start bringing it down from Gauteng and sell it in the City of Cape Town area. Seeing as we are selling it directly to the customer our prices are very competitive.

Our hospitality business was hard hit by the lockdown restrictions seeing as it is considered to be a luxury service. This led us to start selling pet products seeing as it is considered an essential service to try and navigate through these turbulent times.
