When we live or work in a place we know is prone to , we prepare to deal with them. We at least make sure we have something to fight the fire with, like a fire be**er or a skid unit.
This is called , but it’s so much more than that.
Risk management is essential. It’s what you do when you want to protect something valuable; looking at the consequences that would occur if something were to, say, burn down versus the likelihood of it burning down and accordingly. It’s weighing risk and minimising it.
We urge you to start becoming aware of risks and , veldfire risks in particular. Does anything have a history of catching fire around you? Is there something that would be catastrophic to lose, and could it be damaged by wildfires? Look around you. Do you know your risks?
