KZN - Newlands

Meet Mika
Gender: Female
Age: 3 (27th of November)
Breed: German Shepherd x Labrador (overall medium sized)

Mika is a really playful and loving dog, with a happy personality.
She's always in the mood to play.
Loves playing with a ball, just a bit difficult to get it back from her at times due to her feeling the thrill of being chased with something in her mouth.
She loves hugs.
As a pup, she used to jump up and stand on her hind legs and wouldn't back down unless we gave her a hug or picked her up.
She sort of carried that habit with her over the years. I have tried to train it out of her but due to her being so affectionate, she finds it difficult to cope without being held or cuddled. She adores people.
She loves to meet other animals but never had a good encounter with another well-behaved dog in the neighbourhood as they've always tried to attack her, all she wabts to do is play.
She loves to interact with other animals. She does not like birds and monkeys.
Cats she's good with, but she tends to get too excited and wants them to run around with her. Another dog to play with would be fantastic.
Surprisingly, owners did have an incident with a snake that slithered into their yard and this little rascal thought it was a good idea to go up to it and lie down right in front of it and start talking to it.
She is incredibly friendly.
Dog & cat friendly and fantastic with kids.

Zorro is a black Labrador Ridgeback crossing.
He's currently 11 years old.
He loves attending and cuddles. He absolutely adores and loves bum scratches.
Loves his toys and his ball. He absolutely loves his sister and doesn't like to be alone.
He doesn't like water. He loves walks. He gets along well with other dogs. Doesn't like cats.
He's been sterilized. His vaccinations are up to date from June 2025. He is scared of fireworks and heavy thunder. If he could snuggle in a dog bed or on a couch he'd be happy.
Always looks like he's smiling. He's a very happy boy.

Lyla is a Pitbull and she's currently 6. She grew up with Zorro since the age of 8 weeks old.
She was sterilized at the age of 6 months. She has always been playful and loving and caring and knows when someone needs a kiss or a hug.
She absolutely loves to play fetch with different toys 🧸 especially balls. 😍 She gets along with other dogs. Don't know about cats.
She has separation anxiety and it's difficult to keep her seperate from Zorro. She loves cuddles and jumping on the bed and sleeping on the bed and taking the bed over.
She absolutely adores her brother. She's never had problem with water. She's scared of thunder and fireworks.

Cat and dog friendly.

These two loving family dogs are Sparky and Simba
We would love for them to be rehomed together as they've been together for the last 4 years and they're quite close.
Sparky is our Lab Retriever. He is 8 years old. He's a sensitive giant, a teddy bear who loves to be cuddled.
His favourite place is definitely the kitchen, where he'll try to woo you with his big brown eyes into throwing him a morsel even if he's just finished his breakfast!
But he easily works off his calories in the garden.
He loves a game of fetch and will quickly bring you his toy bone to throw until he's tired himself out.

His little brother, Simba - he is 5 years old (and named after the Lion King because of his big personality), is a typical Jack Russell. He is also very sensitive and highly intelligent.
Even though he's super fast, he's no match for Sparky in a game of catch, but that doesn't deter his ambition to steal Sparky's toy bone during a game. The two are always engaging in a game of "wrestle", bewildering because of the size difference, but very endearing.
They are such perfect family pets. They are sterilised and vaccinated.
They are good with cats and kids and other dogs. They friendly happy and have wonderful personalities.

Lilly is a beautiful 9-year-old Dachshund looking for her perfect retirement home. This gentle girl has the sweetest nature. She adores people, children, and other dogs.
Sadly, Lilly needs to find a new home as her current canine companion has developed health issues and the two are no longer getting along. It’s a difficult decision made with Lilly’s happiness in mind.

She truly deserves a calm, loving home where she can enjoy her golden years surrounded by kindness and cuddles.
