Over the past days, the Breede River broke its banks greater than ever in living memory and caused severe flooding damage across parts of Klawervlei Stud.
While the devastation is difficult to take in, we are incredibly grateful that all our horses, livestock and people are safe. Right now, that is what matters most.
We are currently assessing the full extent of the damage as teams work tirelessly across the farm to restore and secure affected areas.
Klawervlei has weathered many seasons over the years, and moments like these remind us that it is the strength of our people, our community and those around us that carries us through.
Our thoughts are also with our neighbours, friends and every family, farm and business along the Breede River who have suffered loss and damage during this flood.
To everyone who has reached out with messages of support, assistance and care, thank you. It means more than words can express.
We will take this one day at a time, together.
