Our hearts are filled with gratitude after welcoming the learners and staff from Christian Brothers College to our society.

Not only did they spend time with our cats and dogs, showering them with much-needed love, attention, and affection, but they also made a generous financial contribution towards the care of our animals.

For many of our dogs and cats, a gentle pat, a kind word, and a little extra attention can make all the difference. Seeing the learners interact with them brought so much joyβ€”not only to the animals but to our team as well.

As a welfare organisation, we rely heavily on the kindness and generosity of our community to continue providing food, shelter, medical care, and a second chance to animals in need. Every donation, no matter the size, helps us make a difference, and we receive your contribution with truly thankful hearts.

To every learner who visited, thank you for sharing your time, compassion, and love with our animals. And to Christian Brothers College, thank you for choosing to support our cause and helping us continue our mission.

Every day, abandoned, abused, injured and unwanted animals arrive at our society needing help, safety and love. We cannot do this alone β€” we depend on the kindness and support of the public to continue our work.

We ask the public to support our Monthly Kennel Sponsorship Programme. By sponsoring a kennel, you help provide warmth, food, medical care and safety for the animals depending on us.

There is nothing more rewarding than seeing animals leave our care and begin their next chapter in loving forever homes. This week, our hearts are overflowing with gratitude as so many wonderful families opened their homes and hearts to give these deserving animals a second chance at happiness.

A heartfelt thank you to every person who adopted, and to everyone who shared our adoption posts. Your support helps us connect our animals with the loving families they deserve.

🏑 The Van der Merwe family adopted two of our beautiful cats. One arrived as a stray and the other was surrendered into our care. They will now enjoy a life filled with love, comfort, and plenty of attention in their new home.

🏑 Mr Divan Buys adopted two cats from us. Both had been surrendered, and we are delighted that they will now be living their very best lives with the Buys family.

🏑 The Maree family welcomed our gorgeous female Terrier into their home. After being surrendered to us, she has found a wonderful family and will now share her life with two canine companions.

🏑 The Pretorius family adopted our beautiful Border Collie Cross puppy. She will be showered with love and has already gained a new best friend to play and grow up with.

🏑 Dr Van Tonder adopted our lovely Dachshund girl. She came to us as a stray and has now found a forever home where she will be sharing her days with a feline friend and two canine sisters.

🏑 The Griesel family adopted both our handsome male Tabby cat and our stunning Swiss Shepherd. They will have plenty of space to explore and enjoy life alongside their new doggy companion.

🏑 The Swanepoel family adopted our loving female Boerboel. After arriving as a stray, she has found a wonderful home where she will be surrounded by love and two doggy friends.

🏑 Mr Duard le Grange adopted our beautiful female Border Collie. She came to us as a stray and will now enjoy life in a loving home with a feline companion.

🏑 Mr Gideon Breedt adopted our handsome male Border Collie Cross, who was surrendered into our care. We couldn't have wished for a better home for this special boy. He will be spoiled with love, receive the very best care, and enjoy plenty of adventures and runs alongside his new dad.

Every adoption is a reminder of why we do what we do. These animals have each faced their own challenges, but thanks to their new families, their futures are now filled with love, security, and happiness.

Every morning, we walk these kennels before the rest of the world is awake. We know every face, every tail, every little personality. These puppies are our babies too.

Right now, we are fighting Parvovirus in some of our puppy kennels. Our team is disinfecting around the clock β€” but we urgently need chlorine to keep going.

πŸ’” Some mornings break your heart before the day even begins.

This morning, a kind-hearted community member spotted something no one should ever see β€” a dog, dumped on the side of the road like he was worth nothing. He didn’t drive past. He made the call. And our team responded immediately.

What our inspectors found left them shaken.

An old, frail dog β€” sick and alone β€” had been deliberately abandoned to suffer. Not by accident. Not by circumstance. Someone made a choice to leave him there. That is cruelty. Plain and simple.

Our team wasted no time. He was rescued, held with care, and surrounded by compassion in his final moments. Sadly, his condition left us with only one humane option β€” to end his pain and give him the peaceful passing he deserved but was so cruelly denied.

He didn’t die alone on a roadside. He died knowing kindness. That’s the only comfort we can hold onto today.

To the man who stopped and made that call β€” thank you. You gave this dog something his owner never did: you saw him. Heroes don’t always wear capes. Sometimes they’re just someone who chose not to look away.
