Tips & Tricks from your Local groomer!
4. Flea and tick Season!!
If your flea and tick collar (especially seresto) is hard as a ROCK, it's time for a new one!!!!
I know they are good for several months and we tend to forget things in our busy lives, but just remember to check them. You should be checking them monthly, at least, to make sure they aren't too tight or too loose. Your dog's weight and hair length fluctuations through out the year, just like ours, so always double check them!
Make it a habit to get new collars every spring. That way, you have protection from pests all summer.
If you don't like collars, there are always other options. There are monthly treatments that can either be topical or by mouth, but just keep in mind every dog is different and can easily have a reaction to anything, so be watchful. There are also all natural options. Just do your research on what you feel comfortable with or talk to your vet. I personally like seresto collars because they are good for 7 months, non toxic if eaten or touched, and if my dog has a reaction to them, I just simply take the collar off and give them a bath. I believe they may have been bought out by another company tho, so I will be looking into that myself as well.
BUT either way you choose, be prepared, bug season is here! Fleas and ticks on your pet are perfectly normal, gross, but normal, so don't panick when you see them. Just treat your pet and yard regularly. IT WILL BE OK! 😁
Thank you and God Bless!
