Meet June Bug: The Lovable, Low-Maintenance, Zoomie Queen. 💜

This 4 year old girl is the definition of sustainability—she’s self-entertaining, self-exercising, and full of personality. One moment, she’s hitting max speed in a zoomie frenzy, and the next, she’s curled up for a cozy couch nap. She’s a low-maintenance, high-reward kind of gal with a comedic streak that will keep you smiling.

She is around 50lbs and LOVES squishmallows. June Bug has spent most of her life waiting for her forever family, which is heartbreaking because she has SO much love to give. She thrives in a quiet home with patient humans who will let her set the pace when building trust. The key to her heart? Treats, space, and a little time. Once she decides you’re her person, she LOVES you wholeheartedly. Think of her like a person who prefers a handshake over a hug—once she’s comfortable, she’s all in.

She would do best as the only pet, but experienced dog owners open to structured introductions may be considered. Crate-and-rotate setups work great for her, and she has been receiving training through The Pet Connection. They can provide amazing support to ensure a smooth transition. No cats or young children for her.

**ADORABLE ADOPTABLE OF THE DAY!!**

Meet Duke! 👑 Duke is a handsome 4.5 year old male boxer mix, who is truly an awesome dog. This boy is a quick learner, hyper speed, and settled to into his foster home fast!. He will be an outstanding, loyal companion for his new owner. Duke's prior owner sadly passed away and his family was unable to keep him. He has already learned "go to your room", "crate", and "go eat" at which time he goes over to his bowl for his meal. Amazing! He waits for permission to be invited onto the couch, but his face is so cute there's no way you can tell him no. He loves to give kisses and is a fantastic cuddler. He enjoys exploring the yard but is quick to want to come back to the indoor comforts when he's done with his business. He can play rough with other dogs and would do best as the only dog in his home. He has a strong prey drive and should not be around cats or other small animals, including small dogs. He does well with older kids. This boy loves a big stuffie toy and will carry it all around with him. Nylabones are a great way to occupy his time and energy and he also likes car rides. He'd be a great running buddy or pet for an active household.

🐾❤️Today our Outreach Team hit the streets of Kansas City with a van full of food, supplies, and open hearts. ❤️🐾

For many families, these simple things — a bag of dog or cat food, a leash, a blanket — mean the difference between struggling and making it through. They mean pets can stay safe, healthy, and right where they belong: at home with the people who love them most.

Every knock on a door, every smile, every wagging tail reminds us why this work matters so much. These families love their pets just as much as we love ours — sometimes they just need a little help.

Meet Paka! 🧡 Paka is a beautiful tuxedo girl with a heart as gentle as her paws. She loves curling up high on cat condos for her naps, and at night she’ll snooze happily leaning against your legs. Playtime is her favorite—especially if feather toys are involved! She’ll leap with all her might to catch them, making you laugh with her determined jumps. Paka has a soft spot for Churu treats and will lovingly rub against your legs the moment she spots one. While she’s incredibly sweet, Paka can be shy at first, so she’ll thrive in a calm, patient home. She would love to have a feline friend already in the home—or be adopted together with her sister, Pishi, for double the love.
