Advanced Camp focused on course design today.

Riders learned how to correctly walk lines, measure strides, and set a basic Hunter course with guidance from Coach Anna. These are key foundations for understanding pace, track, and successful rounds in the Hunter ring.

🚫 Lessons Cancelled Today – Poor Air Quality 🚫

Due to the current poor air quality from nearby wildfires, all riding lessons are cancelled today for the safety of our riders, horses, and staff.

🐴 Statement Regarding the Welfare of Our School Horses 🐴

It has come to our attention that concerns have been raised about the welfare of our school horses. We take these matters very seriously and would like to address them openly.

At Sprout Meadows, the well-being of our horses is our top priority. Each horse has a carefully structured work schedule, including:

4 weeks of staggered vacation throughout the year for rest and recovery

Scheduled days off each week

Limits on activities to ensure their physical and mental health

Our school horses are not here to “perform” endlessly — they are valued partners in teaching the basics, foundations, and horsemanship. For riders wishing to progress further, we offer lease opportunities or encourage horse ownership. Even then, leased horses have set limitations to ensure their long-term health.

When our horses retire, they move to a dedicated field on our property where they can live out their days comfortably. They continue to receive the same high level of care, including regular farrier and veterinary attention, chiropractic work, and PEMF therapy as needed.

We also want to address communication boundaries. For the mental well-being of our owners and staff — just as we prioritize downtime for our horses — all work-related questions should be directed to the office. Personal messages or texts will be answered only in emergencies.

We believe in transparency, compassion, and mutual respect — for both our animals and our community. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact our office directly. There are always two sides to every story, and we welcome respectful conversation to ensure the truth is heard.
