Every herd has a beginning, though not always a clear one. There is rarely a single moment you can point to and say, this is where it started. More often, it begins quietly, almost unnoticed something that grows over time until, without quite realising when it happened, it has become something whole.
This herd began like that, not as a herd, but with one pony, and then another, and then, gradually, something began to take shape. There was no plan, no clear vision of what it would become. In the beginning, it was simply about meeting them, getting to know them, learning who they were as individuals. Each encounter stood on its own, without any sense that it would one day become part of something larger.
