Courtesy post: This cat is not in our facility. If you are interested in this sweet boy, give us a call or message us and we will put you in contact with the foster family! This is from his foster family:

“Meet Dr. Crisps, a handsome three-year-old who was originally found living outside as a stray. Despite his rough start, his sweet nature quickly shone through, and I couldn’t leave him outdoors. I took him in, began treating him for an upper respiratory infection, and soon got him vetted through Karma Kat Café & Rescue’s spay/neuter clinic this past August.

Since then, we’ve been focused on helping him adjust to life indoors and building his confidence around people and pets. After a month of steady socialization, Dr. Crisps has shown he gets along wonderfully with children, dogs, and other cats. He’s proven himself to be a gentle, affectionate companion who’s ready to thrive in a forever home. All he needs now is a loving family to give him the chance he truly deserves. ❤️”

We often hear beautiful stories of the magic of cats, those stories that touch our very hearts. Cats, those mysterious and wonderful creatures, they often save us as much as we save them.

Well, it was definitely a Monday on a Tuesday today, which also included authorizing humane euthanasia for a cat hit in town and left dying in a yard. And while we have often paid for these services, because I will never let any animal suffer and die alone, I am going to ask for a big favor: if you ever hit an animal like a dog or a cat please don’t just leave them. They are suffering, and there is always a possibility of saving their life. Call local vet offices, call animal control, but try to do your best to help out the injured animal. This particular cat had people standing along the side of the road, probably right after it was hit, but they left it there and while it is a confusing situation, every animal deserves this much respect!

If you hit a cat, your priorities are your safety, the cat's well-being, and potential legal responsibilities. Stop your vehicle, assess the scene and the cat for injuries, and contact a veterinarian immediately. If the cat has a collar, contact the owner; otherwise, the vet can scan for a microchip.
1. Secure the Scene & Prioritize Safety
Stop your vehicle: safely and turn on your hazard lights.
Assess the surroundings: to ensure you are not in danger.
Warn other drivers: by placing a warning triangle or similar device behind your car if it's safe to do so.
2. Check the Cat
Approach cautiously, as even an uninjured cat may bite or scratch out of fear or pain.
Do not touch the cat directly: if it appears aggressive; use something to help.
Gently move the cat: to a safer area of the road if possible, using cardboard or a blanket to minimize further movement.
3. Seek Veterinary Help
Call a vet immediately: for guidance and to arrange transport to the closest veterinary hospital.
If you cannot transport the cat, contact local animal control, a shelter, or rescue service for assistance.
4. Find the Owner
Check for a collar and ID tag .
Take the cat to a vet or animal shelter: to be scanned for a microchip.
5. Be Aware of Legal & Emotional Impact
Check your local laws: regarding hitting a domestic animal, as you may be legally obligated to stop and report the incident.
Contact your auto insurance provider, as hitting an animal may be covered by your comprehensive policy.
Recognize the emotional toll: this can take and consider ways to process your feelings, such as by supporting animal welfare causes.

Adoption number 1738 is our very sweet kitty named Windy. Windy came to us through a local gentleman who is doing his part and trying to help to rescue kitties from outside in our community. We were very happy to facilitate finding homes for a litter of kittens that he had been caring for and don’t worry, Mom was fixed as well. This little girl was very popular, in fact she had at least three adoption applications, but Emma is the lucky adopter. Little Miss Windy will be joining one kitty friend in her new forever home. Congratulations!

What is Karma Kat Cafe?

I wanted to create a community setting, where humans and cats can interact in a serene atmosphere, and increase the odds of successful adoptions. By partnering with local shelters and rescues, we have created a valuable meeting space, and we provide an enriching, safe space for homeless cats. All adoptable cats are spayed or neutered and have required vaccinations.

How it works

  • 1. On-line reservations are available for an hourly fee. Walk-ins will are available, when slots are open. We have to maintain a purrfect cat-to-human ratio, so that everyone is comfortable.
