Fosters are in need to help us continue our mission in saving those in need.

⭐️If I foster, do I have to cover vet expenses?
Not at all! Our organization works with local vets, who provide the services at the expense of GSDRGA only - fosters are not responsible for paying vet bills.

⭐️What experience is needed to be a foster?
No experience is required, just a love for the breed and time to care for a dog! We have access to training resources so as to help you get accustomed to your foster experience.

German Shepherd experience is desired … many people do not realize what they are getting into when they foster or adopt a GSD. They are highly intelligent dogs that require training and plenty of exercise.

8-month-old
Housetrained
Good with other dogs
Knows basic commands like sit, stay, and come.
Quick learner
He's still a puppy and has mouthiness, so a home with older kids is best (12+)
Needs someone committed to ongoing training.

At German Shepherd Gog Rescue of Georgia we are passionate about our dogs. Not many things pull at our hearts like seeing a Shepherd not getting the love they deserve. Shepherds are natural protectors of their packs but sometimes they need a little help. If you would like to help out, the best ways are with monetary donations and fostering newly rescued shepherds. It’s an unfortunate reality that the numbers of dogs will always out number our fostering homes. If you would like to foster or know of someone please contact us so we can get one more dog out of a kill shelter.
