from POLA'S mom....

My name is Pola and so far I've had three different journeys in life. The first one began about five years ago in Florida when a lady said she would take care of me. I'm not sure what I did because I was a puppy but she didn't like me anymore, so she packed her things and moved away without me. Although I was only six months old, had no food or a place to call home, I knew I h

ad to be strong. I roamed the streets and ran away from every stranger that came my way because I didn't trust them and because I'm a very fast runner. Then, a hot summer afternoon, another lady and her dog approached me. I trust dogs, so I let them convince me to come with them but then the lady said they couldn't keep me but they would take me "home". On the way back to the address on my tag, I recognized a man who tried to catch me a few days earlier. He was my Dad and he would be the one to take me Home. That's when my second journey began! I met Mom and she fell head over heels for me, I also met my brother who became my best friend. After nursing me back to health, we had amazing times together every single day. My favorite things to do included running around the backyard with my brother, fetching my bouncy ball, riding in the car with Mom, eating bananas with Dad, and sunbathing under the Florida sun. We then moved away because Mom got a job offer in Texas, where the fun continued because I had a backyard for running and sunbathing, my parents packed my toys, and they also sell bananas there, so I was all set. The best thing of all is that this time the move included me! To celebrate my parents' anniversary, we all went on a family road trip back to Florida. Road trips are my favorite and I was going to see my family there, so I was ready to go! As we were driving through Louisiana, we were suddenly struck by a distracted driver. After the car stopped spinning, I realized I couldn't feel or move my legs anymore. Mom pulled me out of the car and gave me to a wonderful lady who promised to take care of me and my brother while Mom and Dad went to the hospital, and she did. So many other kind people got together and they all tried to help me out so that I could keep running and living my life but it was not to be because a new journey was about to begin. My third and final journey began when I felt my legs again running across the Rainbow Bridge and it was great! I watch over my family from here, I also watch over other dogs who have had a tough life and need to feel the love that I felt when my family found me. There's nothing like a second chance at life and that's what I wish for all dogs who don't know what Home is... yet.

Y’ALL ❤️❤️❤️
I know most of yall don’t know this. I have been so stressed about so many things lately. One big reason has been 6 acres that I swear grows higher every day just to keep me stressed 😜
Sunday I found a mower, pulling into get money from ATM, guy calls and says the other person that was coming an hr and half ago just called. She had a flat 🤦🏼‍♀️. And she bought it
Today a friend pulled in with this 👇🏼. Was gonna park it here to sell it. 😳. SOLD. All maintenance kept up. A+ condition. Very well kept. Do yall know how excited I am 🤩🙌🏻👏🏼
We still need to raise about $500 and that will cover the amazing price of $850.
POLA will be paid $150 each time it’s mowed.
I know this isn’t the norm however it is a Necessity. I just can’t see paying $400 a week for someone to mow.

❤️❤️❤️FUNDS RAISED❤️❤️❤️
THANK YOU SO MUCH YALL ARE AMAZING

Some of y'all might remember a post from June 2024 about a GS mix dog with a big obnoxious army green cloth harness on. Honey was her name at Caddo. She was owner surrendered after a year of the owner having her because she was so skittish.
Well long story, she was adopted to a single mother with 2 small children. She was so fearful, no one could get close to her. She hid inside and if she went outside she hid. So I went and got her because by now it had been posted on fb she was being returned and she was aggressive. 🤬 I had been talking with the adopter and I just had a gut feeling, she was not aggressive, just scared to death.
After a couple of months, she would actually come out of her enclosure without a leash. Then she slowly, very slowly began to not hide every time someone walked near her. Then she decided it was safe to go outside and actually run and play with other dogs.
OAKLEY (new name) will actually walk up to strangers now. She can sit, shake, high five and lay down. She can catch any airborne treat you toss her way. Now, don't think she is not still skittish and don't think if you're outside making noise, she will come to you. She will not go outside if she sees strangers even on the opposite side of the fence. We knew we had done everything we could do for her and it was time. She is still not really adoptable, she is considered a "project" dog.
SO, Thursday, OAKLEY will make her way to Tennessee to an amazing rescue / training facility. She specializes in Shepherds and Malinois. As much as I would just selfishly want to just keep her here forever, she DESERVES so much more. I have spoken in depth to the owner and have 100% confidence she will be able to help OAKLEY and find her the perfect people to love her. Naturally, I will be keeping up with her and fb stalking her page daily. And she probably will regret me having her cell number. 🤫
We do need a little help for OAKLEY to be able to board the bus to her new beginnings. If we could raise $250 (rabies, f***l, 4dx hw test, health certificate, crate charge). We would appreciate any support you could give OAKLEY.

WE REALLY NEED YOUR HELP 🆘🆘🆘🆘🆘🆘🆘🆘🆘 PLEASE

We have some amazing volunteers and one has been coming and mowing and we are so grateful. It takes all day long and after 2 weeks with not being mowed, it's like a jungle. It needs to be mowed every single week at least and if we had a mower, we could keep it up.
We did have some amazing people offer us one at an extremely great price, however, when they looked at it more, the deck absolutely had to be replaced. I've been checking marketplace and for a 50-60" deck, we need around $1,500.

Our dogs gonna get lost in this tall stuff. PLEASE PLEASE help us. If you know someone selling a large zero turn or if you are selling one, please let us know. Some of those on marketplace are scams.

If you could donate just a little, it all adds us. THANK YOU

Weve gone back and forth on this and this solution makes the most for POLA babies
We need to buy a used zero turn mower at least 48", looking for bigger. I've seen several on marketplace and have someone helping me look at the mechanics of them. We need to raise as close to $1,000-$1,500 as possible and quickly The grass is getting tall Quotes to hire someone are around $400 each week Its 6 acres
If you know someone selling one, please let me know Marketplace is so crazy
So here's the amazing thing - Each time the yard is mowed, Wagville pays POLA $150. Right now that's once a week. So it will be a WIN for POLA.
I WOULD APPRECIATE ANY HELP YOU COULD GIVE US FOR THESE POLA BABIES. ALL OF IT ADDS UP.

Earlier today Carla posted about King.
https://www.facebook.com/share/p/1BX5MhHGbG/

If you don't know the story of King, please read. Carla found him in 2018 and has literally nursed him back to health from day one. The many complications of him being diabetic have been a difficult road but Carla never gave up on him. He has had many many up and downs, very difficult to regulate, but Carla never gave up. It was thought at one point he had cancer, had surgery and healing from the surgery was very difficult and he wasn't healing properly because of the diabetes but Carla never gave up. Carla has fostered him since day one because adopters weren't lining up to adopt an older diabetic dog.
Normally if a dog throws up and has diarrhea, you know it's not an emergency. But when King got sick today, being diabetic, not eating, not being able to get his insulin, you know it's an emergency. And Carla knew. King has been at Valor all day today. Carla has been on the phone getting updates and earlier tonight went to visit. King's body was so tired, 12 yrs old, very rough start for the first 5 years of his life. 2018 was the beginning of life for King. He was on his own, starving, hw pos, full of hooks and everything else imaginable and diabetic. Carla has given King the very best life that boy could possibly have had. Carla never gave up.
Tonight she told King to be strong, rest easy and that she loved him. She told him to fight if he could. Sadly, King's body just couldn't fight anymore. Carla's King is now running free and eating anything he wants.
💔💔 WE LOVE YOU KING

Our Venmo received something last night and is locked. We don't know what is going on but, we are working on it.
Please keep Carla in your prayers. Thank you Carla for loving King.

🆘🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻 PLEASE HELP OUR BOY, KING!!!🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🆘
Our long term hospice foster, King, is at Valor Emergency Clinic right now. He has been a diabetic since we found King in 2018. His diabetes has been hard to regulate over the years, but he has received excellent vet care to get him healthy. Overnight, he became very sick with vomiting and diarrhea. Refuses food and treats, which is so unlike him. He is very dehydrated and has continuous diarrhea. Possible diagnosis is major gastro issues OR diabetic ketoacidosis (this can be very dangerous). He has to stay for round the clock care for 48-72 hours. This is going to be very expensive and we can't afford this vet bill without your help. Quote is up to $3,000, which includes 24-7 care, fluids and meds, glucose tests, different blood tests and urinalysis, and possibly radiographs. If you can donate to help us with this vet bill, we would appreciate your support, big time!

💙You can call your donation to Valor Veterinary Emergency Hospital for King's care (POLA Foundation) at 318-725-5990
OR pay through PayPal at [email protected]

💙Backstory of King: Carla found him emaciated, weak, all alone in a field in the middle of the hot summer in 2018. She begged POLA to jump in and help him so we did. He was extremely malnourished to the point he looked like a bag of bones, plus he was heartworm positive, and full of hookworms. He was very sick and we spent a lot of time at the vet with him. He turned out to be diabetic. It took a lot of TLC to get him healthy. With King being so malnourished, getting his insulin balanced was very difficult. It took a while to put weight back on him because he had to be on prescription food. So he has had expensive special prescription food and insulin he needs twice a day. With the cost of his care being so high, no one ever adopted King. He has been in long term foster care with our Carla for a couple of years now where he has been living a happy life with excellent care.
