Six puppies from an accidental litter are looking for homes. “There are 4 males and 2 females. Mama is a White Lab and papa is a Pit/Husky. They were born on June 5th, so are about 3 months old. They received some shots on August 14th.”

A couple months ago, we were looking for a foster home for baby Tyson (responds to the name “Dutch”). We are looking for another either foster or foster-to-adopt home. Unfortunately, he plays too roughly for a toddler. He would do well with slightly older children, that would be able to tell him “no.” While he is small, at only 18lbs. and only 12-13 weeks old, he is still a puppy and will be quite a bit of work training-wise. He does do well with other dogs and cats that are used to dogs.

We had many foster applications come through last time, but it’s been a while and we can’t sort through them because they don’t have his name on them, so we can’t determine who applied to foster him or another dog. This little girl was found wandering around on her own in Sheldon, ND. A kind family took her in and have looked for anyone missing her, but no one has come forward. She is not microchipped. We don’t have room at the shelter right now, so we are trying to help this family find her a new home. The family that has taken her in temporarily for the last few weeks has this to say about her:

She looks to be around 1 year old, really young yet. She is mostly potty trained (she gives cues to let you know when she has to go) and is kennel trained. She appears to be good with children, cats, and other dogs. She LOVES car rides! She is very smart and once she knows the boundaries, she stays in the yard. She has also been taught some tricks, as she does sit when she’s being fed.

If you recognize this beautiful girl or are interested in giving her a loving home, please message us and we will get you in contact with the family that has taken her in!

Bonsai (now Toby) came in to the shelter when he was found as a stray near Cooperstown back in June/July. He was wandering on his own for several weeks before a kind couple took him in and brought him to us. After a few weeks of being in our care, the same kind couple that found him contacted us because they just couldn’t get him out of their heads - they filled out an application and took him home as foster-to-adopt until his medical was complete. This weekend, they finalized his adoption!

This sweet and sassy girl came in from another rescue when she was an owner surrender to that rescue. Iris was not the easiest cat to find a home for as she was sassy and only wanted people on her own terms. Today she found her forever home after waiting patiently for several months for someone to give her a chance 😽 we will miss you so much sassy girl but are very happy for you too 🩷 live your best life beautiful girl!

Mars and Mercury originally came to us as very young puppies with the rest of their litter (dubbed the “Country Singers”) about 2 1/2 years ago. They were the last of their litter and their adopter couldn’t bring himself to separate them. Unfortunately, their adopter passed away very unexpectedly a few months ago, so we took them back and they have been in foster care since the end of May/beginning of June. This afternoon, Mars and Mercury went to their new forever home!

ALSO - we would like to extend a HUGE thank you to Mars and Mercury’s foster family. Thank you SO MUCH for finding a place in your hearts to add two more dogs to while they looked for their new home. They were so much happier with you than they would have been sitting at the shelter for several months! 🥰

This beautiful girl was rescued by one of our volunteers many months ago. None of us would have ever believed Reba would see cats come and go at the shelter yet, she seemed to be overlooked week after week, month after month. Today Reba left the shelter after waiting 9 long months 😽we will miss our fun and sassy girl but we are so happy for you 🩷 live your best life, you will be so missed!

Diesel came to us from another ND pound when his time was up and no one claimed him. He went home a few weeks ago and is doing amazing with his new family and canine sibling!

Padfoot came to us back in February from a reservation roundup. He was on a medical hold for several months, as he almost needed one of his hind legs amputated. He was hit by a vehicle at only a few months old and didn’t recieve medical care, so his leg hasn’t been growing properly. He still might need it amputated, but we won’t know that for sure until he’s around 2 years old, and he’s only around 1 year right now. That didn’t deter this kind family! They fell in love with Padfoot and weren’t phased by his “disability” at all!
