Colorado Alpacas: Weather’d T Ranch is owned and operated by Gary and Cindy Truitt. We raise our Colorado alpacas as a family business with our son Wade, daughter-in-law Marianne and granddaughter Alex working with us on the ranch. In addition to our family's full time work on the ranch we have 3 people on our staff working daily in the care and maintenance of the alpacas and ranch. Our Colorado alpaca ranch was established in 1999 and consists of 110 acres of native grass land. We are located 60 miles southeast of Denver in the high plains of beautiful Colorado. The ranch was started with a dream to have a simpler way of life and to raise an animal that was enjoyable to work with each day and also one that would provide an income for us. The first time we saw these beautiful, magnificent animals running in a pasture we knew we had found our dream! Our dream has turned into a reality. We have learned many things about our alpacas and are realizing that each day with them is a learning experience. They are truly an animal to respect and we are privileged to care for them. We raise both the Suri and Huacaya Alpacas for breeding stock. Our foundation herd is diversified with bloodlines from Peru, Chile, Bolivia and North America. We take special care in the health of our alpacas and work very closely with a nutritionist and our veterinarian to provide the best feed and supplements to insure healthy animals. The alpaca fiber is an important element of our business. We realize promoting alpaca fiber on a small or large scale is vitally important to the alpaca industry. Each year we process the “clip” and then have the yarn woven into beautiful, priceless products. Please visit T3 Weavers (www.t3weavers.com) to see what interesting products are being woven in their weaving studio. We have beautiful 100% alpaca yarn available for sale. Our yarn is 3 ply, dye free, grown and processed in the U.S. Call today for a card sample. Call today to schedule a visit to our ranch so that we may help you make your dream a reality!
