While some cats dream of wet food, new toys, and the softest blanket in the house, Gremlin dreams of something simpler.

She dreams of a home.

Gremlin is a seven-month-old cat at our Santa Barbara campus who has already learned that comfort can come after hardship. Born with an eye that caused her pain, she had it removed and healed with grace. What remained was a gentle, loving soul who leans into every moment with trust.

She is curious, affectionate, and quietly hopeful. The kind of cat who settles in close and makes a space feel warmer just by being there.

This season, Gremlin is wishing for a person to call her own. If you have room in your heart and your home, she is ready to meet you.

This is the face you make when you were in the middle of very important puppy business and someone said, “Wait. We need one holiday picture.”

Jingle is a three-month-old Shepherd mix at our Santa Barbara Campus who would like it on the record that he did not request the hat, the bells, or the sudden pause in playtime. What he did request is snacks, toys, and a home where his main job is being a puppy.

He is playful, curious, and fully committed to joy, even when mildly inconvenienced by festive accessories.

We will be closed tomorrow for Christmas, but Jingle will be right here today, waiting patiently (or as patiently as a puppy can) to meet his people. We will be open on Friday, and our normal hours for adoptions are 12 to 4:30 PM every day of the week except Wednesdays.

Festivus is here, and Dodger has some grievances to air.
First grievance. There are not enough toys in the world.
Second grievance. Walks should be longer. Much longer.
Third grievance. Everyone should be prepared for surprise zoomies at all times.

Dodger is a one-and-a-half-year-old black Lab at our Santa Barbara Campus, built like a star athlete and powered entirely by enthusiasm. Feint left. Feint right. Tuck and roll. This dog has range. Hiking. Running. Beach days. Water splashing. Treat acquisition. Cookie jar monitoring. He does it all.

In the spirit of Festivus, Dodger would also like to demonstrate feats of strength, which mostly involve carrying toys that are absolutely too small for him and winning your heart in under five minutes. He enjoys other dogs, though sometimes his excitement gets the best of him, and he is working with our team on keeping things cool, calm, and coordinated.

If you are looking for an adventure buddy, a daily laugh, and a very enthusiastic participant in all future holidays, Dodger is ready to report for duty.

Breaking holiday news: Santa has outsourced his entire operation to puppies and the North Pole has never been cuter..

Prancer, Dancer, Blitzen, Comet, and Vixen are a crew of three-months-old Pit Bull puppies currently causing seasonal mischief at our Santa Maria Campus. They are festive, fast, emotionally available, and operating entirely on snacks, naps, and the belief that every human exists for cuddles.

They prance. They dance. They comet directly into your personal space. They blitz your shoelaces. They vixen their way into your heart before you even realize what has happened.

Adopting one of these pups is not just adopting a dog. It is inviting holiday chaos, puppy breath, and joy you did not budget for into your home.

We don’t think you’re ready for this Jelly.

Jelly is not a survivor; this is a thriver. A one-year-old cat at our Santa Maria Campus who starts out undercover, tucked beneath a blanket like a slow burn intro, and then suddenly it is the chorus, and she is everywhere. Biscuits. Nose boop. Full-body rubs. No warning. No apologies.

She is soft, loving, confident in her timing, and very clear about wanting closeness once she decides you are her person. Bills paid. Love delivered. Destiny fulfilled.

Ellie looks like she just stepped out of a 1989 mall food court, headed straight for an Orange Julius and a very serious cuddle appointment. That windbreaker says aerobics class at five, soft rock at six, emotional support lap time immediately after.

Ellie is a two-years-old, female Maltese at our Santa Maria Campus, and while she may arrive a little shy, she warms up quickly once she feels safe. When that happens, her preferred activity becomes sitting on laps, being held, and slowly falling asleep like a very cozy screensaver from the early cable TV era.

She seems to enjoy one-on-one time most of all, especially when it involves quiet companionship, gentle affection, and staying exactly where you are. Multitasking is encouraged, as long as Ellie is included.

If your life could use a retro vibe, a warm lap accessory, and a dog who treats cuddling like a full-time job, Ellie may be your perfect match.

Gigi is a one-year-old Husky mix at our Santa Barbara Campus, and she understands her brand. The eyes are gorgeous, the coat is designer, the vocals are arena-ready, and yes, people have asked if a pop diva just entered the building. She enjoys long walks, runs, hikes, and playing hard with her friends, then takes her encore very seriously. Gigi seems to enjoy the company of other dogs, appears comfortable around children, and is working on polishing her calm skills because even stars need a little coaching.

She is ready for her next chapter and promises a truly unforgettable performance.

Every good holiday movie has a wise elder with a mysterious past, a questionable haircut, and strong opinions about naps. This year, that role is being played by Popeye.

Popeye is an eleven-year-young Chihuahua at our Santa Maria Campus who recently lost an eye and decided to treat that as a character arc, not a setback. He is learning his way around the world again, doing so with curiosity, confidence, and a commitment to sunbathing whenever possible.

His ideal holiday agenda includes lounging on soft beds, gently squeaking toys like they owe him money, going for leisurely walks, and supervising all festive activities from a warm, judgmental distance. He still has plenty of pep, plenty of personality, and exactly one eye on the prize, which is a calm home where he can be adored properly.

If your holiday season could use a little wisdom, a little weirdness, and a very charming senior sidekick, Popeye is ready to clock in.

Carpinteria, get ready for some Holiday Movie Magic!

On Tuesday, December 23 at 3 p.m., the Alcazar Theatre will screen How the Grinch Stole Christmas and support Santa Barbara Humane at the same time. A cozy holiday movie that also helps animals? Sign us up.

Pearls are formed when something irritating happens, and beauty refuses to mind its own business.

This Pearl is a five-month-old Domestic Medium Hair at our Santa Maria Campus, and she appears to have taken that concept personally. She is soft, luminous, and quietly judging everything in the room, including you, the floor, and whatever that sound was.

Pearl sits like she is waiting for someone to ask the right question. She blinks like she already knows the answer. She has the energy of a very small creature who believes she is a rare artifact.

The holidays are already a lot. The lights. The lists. The vague emotional expectations. So naturally, this felt like the perfect time to introduce more chaos in the form of ridiculously adorable puppies.

At our Santa Barbara campus, we currently have a full lineup of small beings who believe every object is a toy, every sound is important, and every human exists exclusively for cuddling.
Here are a few of the many puppies we currently have available:

Today we are celebrating all the animals that have found homes in the last week! Cats Ruby, Kitty, Mr. Snuffleupagus, Jade, Pat, Tuxedo Sam, Dancer, Ramsey, Ash, Milan, Leo, Milo, Jolly, Toffee, Marshmallow, Fudge, Star, Comet, Dasher, Cupid, and Blitzen, and dogs Princess Lollie, Kenmore, Scarlet, Leo, Rockette, Sparkle, Scout, Maya, Mitzie, Turnip, Evelin, Datsun, Oliver, Queen Frostine, and Snowball have all been adopted.
