(471)

Please note that we require applications, homechecks and an adoption fee prior to all adoptions. We only place dogs in Southern California - we do not ship dogs outside of our area, please do not ask. We offer new beginnings for English Bulldogs that are homeless, abandoned or surrendered. Some come from cruelty; some from ambivalence. Some Bulldogs come to us simply because an owner is elderly or

sick and can no longer care for a much-loved pet, or there has been a divorce, job loss or illness in the family. Join other families and make a pledge to assure we have the ability to help these bulldogs needing out help. You and other families making a donation of as little or even more each month helps rescue to plan for the unforeseen medical needs and vet care for these senior bulldogs. http://www.socalbulldogrescue.org/help-us/pledge-with-us/

Richie showed off how well trained he is, by responding to fetching his toy, returning and releasing on command - several times in a row.

Richie clearly someone's special boy, is potty trained, affectionate and trained. Why at the shelter as a "stray" and sick - when he clearly should be with a family.

Philly from the Tustin shelter this week got started with meeting other Bulldogs so we can better help match to his next home.

Phil met with Rosie today too. He was a little shy with Rosie, while Rosie is very affectionate with everyone it seem to of caught Phil by surprise.

Based on these types of repeated supervised introductions between rescue Bulldogs helps direct the future placements or suggested homes later.

Would think this was a good sign for Philly and Rosie both.

Today Daisy got time to show off how spry she is and how much she loves her chew toys.

Diasy loves to show off and tries so hard to please everyone, honestly she doesn't realize she doesn't need to try very hard at all.

Since the 'heat wave' interfered with our adoption day event plans, we wanted to make it up to followers with some short play time videos we made at the vet offices today.

These two ladies are Betsy (dark girl) and Rosie ( light girl) getting time to play.

Rosie recently had TECA surgeries and both her ears completely removed due to severe infections. A thoughtless owner wasn't caring properly for her and allowed these infections to happen when untreated. Rescue took care of all her surgeries, including spay and foot surgery

Betsy was rescued by a supporter on her last day at the shelter just before she was going yo be euthanized. Besty had double cherry eye surgery, BOAS and spay while in rescue.

Welcome, Philly (A1974043) from the Orange County - Tustin Shelter. Philly was turned in as a 'stray' and with terrible eye vision - a result of a total lack of treatment for dry eye and leading to severe infections. Philly is estimated to be around 8 years old and also acts a bit younger than the shelter 'guest' for his age from his intake evaluation.

He seemed to of seen a bit while at the shelter, able to see people around him, notice hands moving and take note of visitors in the lobby. We have high hopes for him..

We're hoping that with proper eye drops, cleaning up the eye infections, and a lot of luck, some of his vision can be preserved and give him a full quality of life.

Welcome Richie (A5794045) from the Downey Animal Shelter. The shelter said he's 7 years old, and we think he's acting like a bulldog a couple of years younger.

Another 'stray OTC' Bulldog, likely just means his owners dumped him and didn't want to take responsibility for finding him a home or providing care. How many stray Bulldogs are there in LA County, and worse - HOW COME owners don't come looking for them?

Richie's life has gotten a lot better now; he's playful and recovering from an URI. He's on antibiotics, getting regular meals, out of the heat, and recovering nicely.

Richie will be ready to meet families soon, so get your application dusted off or a new one in soon, he's not going to last long.

Just too darn hot!

We are going to reschedule our adoption day at Hart Park this Saturday to another weekend day. It's been close to or over 100 degrees, and that is not safe for Bulldogs. If you still want to meet adoptable Bulldogs and your application is completed, we have volunteers that can meet you by appointment at kennels, vet offices, and foster homes in the area.

If you are ready to meet some of our Bulldogs, you can still email to make arrangements to meet with

Cookie, Petunia, Lena, Moana , Matilda, Royce, Sal, Luna, Wall-E, Daisy, Betsy, Enzo, Kenny, Razzie, Reba and others...
