CJ Acres Animal Rescue Farm is a non-profit 501(c)(3), all-volunteer organization that exists to rescue, rehabilitate, and reintroduce abandoned, abused and neglected animals, while promoting compassionate animal care to the community. Our current animal residents include horses, cows, sheep, goats, feral cats, chickens, pigs, turkeys, donkeys, and ducks that have come to us from across the nation

(Arizona, Florida, Georgia, Iowa, North Carolina, and South Carolina) as well as Canada. While their pasts were not ideal (all residents come from abuse, abandonment, neglect, or as the result of catastrophic disasters like hurricanes, fires or floods), they soon experience the restorative magic of CJ Acres Animal Rescue Farm.

At this time of year, many folks are making resolutions. The majority of these focus on improving themselves personally. But did you know that VOLUNTEERING actually provides several personal benefits?

The rescued residents (and human herd) of CJ Acres Animal Rescue Farm, would love ewe to stampede to one of our "Feeding Frenzy" volunteer experiences. These sessions (open to those 14 years old and older) are available on Saturday, Sunday, Monday and Wednesday mornings from 9:30am to 12:30pm. No animal caregiving experience is necessary, but reservations are required (which can be made by emailing us at [email protected]).

We're looking for some superheroes to help us do "Epic S**t" for the sanctuary. The Clay County Fair donates hundreds of square bales of hay after the fair ends (aka this week). We need help moving it from the fairgrounds to the sanctuary.

If you're available anytime through Sunday, please help. If you have a truck...great...but we really just need your muscles to help us load and unload this donation. Message us here or email us at [email protected] and let us know of your availability.

For the past few years, CJ Acres Animal Rescue Farm has been selected to participate in the Clay County Fair- Florida Picnic Table Art program. Local artists create a MOOsterpiece on a PIGnic table for a local charity. The tables are then auctioned off, with the raised funds going back to the charity.

We're thrilled that once again we got to work with Art by Willow in creating this incrediBULL artwork featuring several of our rescued residents. Can ewe name them all?

Happy MOOOOOnday, ewe all! While we hold volunteer sessions every Monday, Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday, we will NOT be holding sessions this weekend. We will resume our normal schedule starting Monday, March 17.

If you're 14 years old or older, ewe can experience an incrediBULL service experience by reserving your spot at our Feeding Frenzy sessions that run from 9:30am to 12:30pm. Either send us an email at [email protected] or a message here on Facebook.

Happy ValenSwine's Day to all of our donors, volunteers and supporters! We LOVE ewe so much!!

For many of our animal-loving friends, Thanksgiving can be a stressful time. The idea of many Americans celebrating gratitude by contributing to the slaughter of tens of millions of sentient beings can be stressful and these compassionate individuals look for ways to help instead of harm.

While we typically offer our Feeding Frenzy volunteer experience (9:30am - 12:30pm) on most Mondays, Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays, we will be holding a special Thanksgiving session tomorrow. For those who are 14 years and older, we invite you to reserve a spot by sending a message here on Facebook or emailing us at [email protected].

If you're unable to attend tomorrow, we'd love to have y'all stampede to the sanctuary for an upcoming session or schedule a private tour (which are open to all ages). If that's not an option, you can still help our rescued residents by sending a "ThanksLiving" gift to www.cjacres.org

Hurricane Helene sent us high winds and Hurricane Milton donated a ton of rain. Both caused fencing damage in our cow, horse and pig pastures. We REALLY need your help quickly to ensure the safety of our rescued residents.

As one of the longest-running farm animal sanctuaries in Florida, we've had the opportunity to help hundreds and hundreds of in-need animals in both the Sunshine State and across the country. We've also witnessed several other great sanctuaries (some new and others established) such as Another Chance Ranch, Critter Creek Farm Sanctuary, EPIC Outreach, Kindred Spirits, SAGE Sanctuary And Gardens for Education, Useless Animal Farm and others do the same.

Sadly, over the past 26+ years, we've also witnessed a few "false rescues" that, due to unethical leadership and illegal activity, ultimately failed the animals in their care. In addition, these animal charities' actions tarnish the image of the animal rescue community as a whole and harm the reputations of the sanctuaries that will have to clean up their mess after the offenders have been shut down.

Over the past few years, Rooterville Animal Sanctuary has been under investigation by two separate county animal control organizations. The Chariperson, Edna "Elaine" West, has been investigated for fraud, identity theft and misappropriation of charitable funds (nearly $350,000) which has resulted in being recently charged with seven felony violations. In addition, under her "leadership", the number of Rooterville's residents has dropped from 300+ to less than 60, primarily due to unnecessary euthanasia.

Within the past week, our volunteers toured Rooterville to verify animal counts. They covered the grounds extensively and saw no more than 55 total animals. In addition, countless witnesses (past employees, vendors, veterinarians, visitors and volunteers) have shared horrific situations while on Rooterville's grounds. Some of these accounts are detailed on The Pig Patrol's page at The Pig Patrol

In the past, CJ Acres Animal Rescue Farm has assisted Rooterville by volunteering...to taking in animals they couldn't care for...to promoting their fundraising efforts. During the pandemic, we reached out to accept in animals they wanted to surrender. Our offer was first ignored and then flat out refused.

Recently, they have suggested - as their donations have dwindled due to mistrust of how gifts will be used - that no one will take their remaining animals and Elaine has been playing the victim card. This is absolutely NOT the case.

So, here's our request. Surrender your residents rather than kill them. CJ Acres Animal Rescue Farm will provide a lifelong home for your one hog, three goats, five turkeys, and all remaining poultry. Other sanctuaries will accept in your remaining cows. That leaves only the roughly 25 potbelly pigs and two dogs which we are in process of finding homes for.

Elaine...the ball is in your court. Do what's best for the animals.
