While we’ve since expanded to serve dogs from all over the world, our heart will always be deeply connected to where it all began. ❤️

Our incredible partners in Mexico are doing life-saving work every single day, often with limited resources and endless need. We’re proud to work hand in hand with:

🌴 Riviera Rescue — rescuing dogs off the streets and from neglectful situations along the coast.
🌿 Santuario Kuxtal — providing a peaceful sanctuary for dogs who need a soft place to land.
🐕 Amor Sin Raza — fighting for the forgotten dogs, regardless of breed, age, or condition.

These rescues pour their hearts into helping dogs that many others overlook, and we are so grateful to be part of their journey. Every dog we welcome from Mexico is a reminder of how far love, dedication, and partnership can go. ✈️🐶💕

Border Tails Rescue is excited to be bringing our adoptable dogs to an upcoming Wellness Event, and we need YOUR help to make it a success!

We’re looking for friendly, reliable volunteers to:
✨ Help handle our dogs during the event
✨ Chat with attendees about our pups and rescue mission
✨ Set up/clean up as needed

"We have enjoyed seeing her make such great progress in feeling better, learning to take her pills off a spoon with organic canned pumpkin and that cough is gone!!! She LOVES zooming through the yard or just chilling in the sun! She even lets me know when her dad has come home from work!! We LOVE her sooo much!! I have attached pics for you all to see her enjoying her new life with us ❣️❣️❣️"

This 4-month-old white pit bull puppy is full of energy, love, and a bit of playful mischief. Originally named "Little Menace" at a partner shelter, Pepper has certainly earned the title with his spirited personality—but don’t let the name fool you. He’s actually a sweet and affectionate pup who’s just looking for a family to match his lively energy. Pepper may be small now, but he’s growing quickly and ready to become an important part of a loving home.

He has a beautiful coat of white fur and those big puppy eyes that melt hearts instantly. Pepper loves to play—whether it’s with his favorite toys, running around in the yard, or just getting all the belly rubs he can. Keeping our rescue clean and safe for all the pups in our care takes a lot of supplies — and right now, we are running low on one of the most important ones: large garbage bags! 🗑️🐾

We go through so many each day to keep kennels and common spaces fresh, sanitary, and welcoming for our animals, staff, and volunteers. If you’re able to help, we’d be so grateful!

✅ What we need: Heavy-duty large garbage bags (33–55 gallon preferred)

🌟 Foster Needed for Susie Q! 🌟

Meet Susie Q, a young shepherd mix who came to us from a cruelty case. 💔 Despite her rough start, she has stolen the hearts of our staff and volunteers with her sweet personality, curiosity, and the way she eagerly greets everyone who walks through the door.

Susie Q is currently paralyzed, but she does have movement in her front legs and can lift herself up. Our medical team believes her paralysis may be injury-related and could improve with time, rest, and the right care. For now, she needs to take things slow and focus on healing.

That’s where you come in! 🐾 We’re looking for a foster home that can provide Susie Q with a safe, quiet, and loving environment while she works with our medical team on her recovery journey. She doesn’t need much—just patience, comfort, and a calm space to heal.
