🌙 Midnights Update 🌙

Hi! Our family welcomed Midnights into our home as a foster last week, and we just had to share an update on this special girl. 💛

Midnights is truly one of the sweetest and kindest dogs you could ask for. She is gentle and respectful around our two toddlers and absolutely loves spending time with our Frenchie—everyone gets along beautifully!

Potty training is still a work in progress, but she’s doing well with frequent trips outside and is learning where she’s supposed to go. She’s food-motivated (who isn’t? 😄), so we’ve been giving her extra snacks and kibble to help her feel full and secure. She has shown no aggression around treats with our other dog and is overall very polite and easygoing.

We’re really hoping Midnights finds her forever home just in time for Christmas—she would make the perfect addition to a loving family. ❤️

🐾 Dog Day Out with Nutcracker 🩰✨

Nutcracker had the best Dog Day Out today! We started with a trip to the pet store, where—of course—we found a nutcracker toy just for her (it was clearly meant to be 😍).

Next stop: pup cup! And let’s just say she was a BIG fan 🍦🐶

This sweet girl soaked up every minute of her adventure—lots of kisses, lots of love, and plenty of attempts to climb into the front seat to be as close as possible. Nutcracker is truly such a sweetheart and made the perfect co-pilot today 💕

💔 The hard part: Nutcracker is really struggling with the shelter environment and truly needs out. Days like today show just how much she blossoms when she’s away from the noise and stress.

💙 HUGE THANK YOU TO TWO MEN AND A TRUCK! 💙

We want to extend our heartfelt thanks to Two Men and A Truck for their incredible support of Border Tails Rescue through their donation drive. Because of their generosity (and hard work!), our dogs are so much better cared for.

Thanks to Two Men and A Truck, we received:
🐾 120 cans of food
🐾 21 large bags of dry food
🐾 95 blankets & 110 towels
🐾 75 dish towels & 35 washcloths
🐾 12 Kongs & 1 enrichment game
🐾 72 toys & 36 bags of treats

💙 Foster Update – This Handsome Beagle Boy! 💙

We wanted to share a few updates on this sweet guy to help show just how great he is and get him noticed!

He’s nearly potty trained and really only has accidents when his routine gets thrown off. Overall, he’s doing amazing with house manners.

This boy truly thrives with another dog in the home, especially dogs closer to his size. Bigger dogs can make him a little nervous, but he absolutely loves following his beagle buddy around the house—it’s beyond adorable. 🐶🐾

True to his beagle roots, he’s a professional couch lounger, spending most of the day snoozing in a cozy spot. While he’s not quite a full-on cuddle bug yet, he loves being close to his people and hanging out nearby. We can definitely see him warming up and becoming more cuddly with time.

While his foster doesn’t have kids full-time, he’s spent several days with a 1-year-old niece and has been incredibly sweet, gentle, and patient with her—earning lots of love in return. 💕

And of course, we can’t forget to mention that he is super adorable and very handsome—the total package! 😍

🐾 Foster Update! 🐾

This little guy is settling into foster life so well and making great progress every day!
He’s about 80% potty pad trained and has a solid routine down—he goes right after breakfast and dinner, and pees after lunch. He’s decided potty pads are much more appealing than going outside in the cold ❄️😉. He lets his foster know when he’s ready to go by barking after meals or potty time, and today he’s been belly band–free with no marking at all—huge win!

He’s totally unfazed by the vacuum cleaner (just watches it and keeps walking like nothing’s happening 😆). Nail trims are a little scary for him, so that’s still a work in progress, but he’s trying his best.

This sweet boy is a pro at catching treats midair and is learning how to take treats gently from hands. He doesn’t chew on anything in the house, spends a lot of time napping, and is starting to get more playful with his foster sibling, Stinky 🐶💕

Overall, he’s a polite, easygoing house guest who’s really coming out of his shell!

We are still in desperate need of holiday fosters! Adoptions slow down this time of year, but the dogs still keep coming—and having a foster home makes all the difference. Opening your home, even temporarily, helps a dog get out of the shelter, decompress, and enjoy the holidays in a warm, loving space.

💖 Bloody Mary Update 💖

We wanted to share a few photos and a little update on Bloody Mary! She’s been doing great in her foster home and has made some wonderful progress.

Bloody Mary is fully potty trained and sleeps through the night like a champ. 💤 We’ve started working on basic commands like sit and come, and she’s learning more every day.

She’s still a bit shy when meeting new people, but with patience and time, she opens up and shows her sweet personality. Having another dog in the home has been a huge confidence booster for her, and she gets along beautifully with her canine companion.
Bloody Mary is such a special girl and would thrive in a loving home that gives her the time and understanding she deserves. 💕

🐶🦇 Part dog, part bat, all sunshine ☀️
Meet Mishi — a tiny legend with the biggest heart. Mishi was left at CACC for euthanasia simply because she was “too old,” but you’d never guess this sweet girl is 14 years young.
Mishi is friendly, gentle, and gets along wonderfully with her foster dog siblings and cats. She loves being near her people and is happiest cuddled up on the couch, soaking in the good life. That said, don’t be fooled — she still has adorable spurts of energy where she runs and plays with her foster siblings 🐾

She is:
✨ Fully house-trained
✨ Calm and easygoing
✨ Quiet and relaxed (not a barker or over-excitable)
✨ Go-with-the-flow and grateful for every moment

And if her personality doesn’t win you over immediately, her iconic bat ears and tiny white tippy toes absolutely will 🖤🤍

Mishi is the definition of a perfect, low-maintenance companion who takes life as it comes and fills a home with warmth.
