Rough morning at the Farm....
Walked outside around 5:15am to check on the Kritters. Headed first to the West barn to find 6 to 7 piles of alpaca poo on the front lawn. Spun around to look at the South barn, to see Girl's walking out. Walked over to find a section of the temporary green gate fencing had disconnected from each other.
So, okay.. gather the Girl's up..
They were awesome and walked into their pen. Then I'm trying to count them to make sure I have them all (26) but they kept moving around. Went to get grain to sort them to separate pens so I could count them.
Lol, found I was missing one..she heard grain and came running!
However, after putting grain out, one kept standing out in the dry lot, she turned to look at me and it wasn't a she but a HE!!!
Just like his father, Stormy was with the Girl's!!
Got him caught, put him back in the North barn with his penmates. Thinking all was good now, I started back to the West barn to check on the Little Boy's. I hear a crash, I spin around and there goes Stormy blasting out of the North barn back to the South!!!
I head back to the South barn, corner him in walkway by our 2 visiting male alpacas and think, where am I going to put him that he can't get out. So, I put him in with them for now.
Thankfully he left the little male alone and is only concerned about the Girl's... praying he stays put till I have time to put him where he belongs.
So... I might have more crias next year than I was actually breeding for!!
Finally back in the house at 6am when I'm supposed to be at work already..
Thankfully, I have a great Manager who laughed when I explained why I was late...

2026 Alpaca Shearing and Kraft show is wrapped up!!
Thank you to Riversong Shearing for an amazing job shearing 76 alpacas and 1 llama. To Dr Jammie for veterinary care all weekend long. To Grace Lutheran Church for managing the concession stand. Olde Time musicians for sweet songs. To the 20 plus craft vendors selling their wares. And extreme huge Thank You's to my amazing friends for managing my alpacas and assisting the 7 other alpaca farms with their stock for a safe, non injury shearing season.

I sincerely hope that the hundreds of guests who stopped for their 1st time or their 12th time, enjoyed the amazing experience of learning about alpacas and watching them get shorn.
