Welcome Miss Maeve to FTO.
She has In dogs, PRAA, or Persistent Right Aortic Arch, is a congenital heart defect where a blood vessel in the heart's blood vessels forms a constricting ring around the esophagus, interfering with swallowing and leading to various health problems. It's typically corrected through surgery, and post-operative care involves feeding adjustments to help the esophagus heal.
She saw the vet today as we were worried she ould have pneumonia but luckily her lungs sounded ok. So the gurgling must have been food in her Megaesophagus from the Praa. Little peanut is about 2.6 lbs
She was a good little girl. Great in the car and with new people.
She tried her first pup cup and it didn't last long.

She will be heading to see a surgeon soon and the estimated cost of the surgery is normally in the $6,000 range.

That on top of the mountain of vet bills we already owe is challenging.

We need to get these bills down or we have to think about no longer helping the high end medical cases.

Izzy is a sweet, energetic girl that was brought to FTO on Valentine’s Day. She enjoys going for walks and does great on a leash. She is potty trained with no accidents since she arrived and will stand by the door to let you know she needs to go outside. She happily sleeps through the night in her crate, while also voluntarily hanging out there throughout the day.

Izzy gets along with other dogs, but much prefers attention from her people. Anywhere you go, she will follow, looking for pets and giving kisses. This happy girl is a quick learner who is eager to please.

This little cutie wants to be by your side, loves to snuggle on the couch, and looks at you with big brown eyes that say "Pet me". Ginger was most likely the family favorite at the Amish home she was picked up from. She knows her name, listens well, and has not been bred for a while. She has never been on a leash, but followed the previous owner close to his side. A fence is suggested, due to her not knowing what to do if she has on a leash and harness/collar. With some patience and training, she should figure it all out. Ginger probably has never played with toys, but is treat motivated, and sleeps in her crate all night. Potty trained if taken out on a regular schedule. Gets along with other dogs, but wants all the attention. She has not been introduced to cats, or children. Ginger has been spayed, had her teeth cleaned and up to date on vaccines. She is so ready for her forever family.

Say hello to Riley, a delightful Welsh Corgi with a big heart and unique eyes. You can call her your brown / blue eyed girl. This little ball of fur is looking for a forever home where she can learn how to be loved and finally feel at ease. Riley has been "shy" from the time she was picked up from the breeder. She watches intently and slowly comes up to be pet and loved on. Her new owners will need to be patient and teach her how to play and have fun. She is very quiet, and scared of loud noises and quick movements. A fenced yard is suggested, due to her not knowing what to do if she has on a leash and harness/collar; she just freezes. With some patience and training, she should figure it all out.

Riley is potty trained if taken out on a regular schedule, sleeps in a crate, and has quickly learned to get along with her foster friends; two other corgis. She has not been introduced to cats, or children. With her adorable short legs and perky ears, she is guaranteed to melt your heart.

Adopt Holly!

6 months old
Female, Aussie poo (Aussie/poodle mix, does shed)
Fully vetted and healthy - part blind and deaf from birth
Fence required but would discuss for the right adopter

Holly is the most joyful pup! She is mostly blind and deaf, but she doesn’t know it! Her nose helps her find her way to her food, toys, bed and/or crate, outside to sun bathe, to play whole heartedly with fur sisters or human sisters, to follow her foster mom everywhere, you get the idea! When she finds a person she loves (and really even meets a new person), her entire 15 lb body unleashes with the most charismatic tail and body wagging we’ve ever seen!! She is generally a calm and patient pup, but loves to play rough with other dogs! Not cat tested.

She does stairs and easily jumps up on the couch and bed for snuggles. She has a great appetite and is working on potty training with a fenced backyard and doggy door. She does pretty well with potty and walks on a leash too!

She will need a little extra time to find her way around and will do best in a home with lots of attention and love (although this gal will spend a good portion of her day snoozing!). She stays in her crate when her fosters are out, and she doesn’t mind sleeping in a crate but does experience some separation anxiety when first crated. When lonely, she will let you know with a loud bark you can’t miss. She doesn’t know how loud she is! 😇

Holly is incredibly playful and sweet with people of all ages, including a very busy and bossy 3 year old human foster sister. A family lucky enough to adopt Holly will be amply rewarded with her love and companionship!

Randall was scared of people at first, but not any more! He is a happy boy that loves to play fetch! Randall is not a fan of the crate, but will tolerate it for short periods of time. We are still working on potty training. Randall loves going on walks and would do great if you can walk him several times a day. Randall came with a skin issue (just in certain spots) that we’re still working on. He’s getting medicated baths to hopefully help his hair grow back.

Adopt Kiwi!

Kiwi has come so far since we first got her!! She was so scared and sick at first. From my husband and I having to hand feed her to get her to eat to now listening to her tell us (or should I say scream?!?) that she’s hungry makes my heart so happy. We also spent many sleepless nights getting up with her to go potty. She’s now sleeping (with us!) through the night and happily wakes up when my husbands alarm goes off. Kiwi is the biggest cuddler too! She would do best in a home where someone is home most of the time because she doesn’t like being left alone. She will cuddle with you all day if you’d let her! She also loves to cuddle with other dogs (so having another dog would be best for her). Kiwi does not like being in a crate at all, but the good news is that she’s doing great with potty training and doesn’t destroy anything while being out of her crate. We have not tried to walk her on a leash yet because she is just learning how to be a dog and run around our fenced in yard.

Clyde is great with kids and adults. He’s getting used to other dogs’ barking and seems intrigued when he sees them through the fence.

Clyde is very quiet and well behaved. He loves attention and will stick by your side once he trusts you. Does great using the restroom outside. Walking well on a leash and loves running in the yard. Would recommend a fenced in yard as he is still very easily spooked. Sleeps all night in his crate.

Adopt Cooper!

🐾would do best in a quiet home with older children, and a companion dog.
🐾 at this time Cooper will require a fence as hes still a little timid.

This sweet boy is timid at first, but once he starts to trust you it’s time to cuddle 24/7. He is doing very well with potty training, and can hold it for least an hour. We get up one time in the middle of the night to take him potty, and he has not had any accidents overnight! Cooper is currently in the process of crate training and is doing well. He sleeps in his crate, and usually will whine for about 10 minutes then will calm down and go to bed for the night. Cooper is amazing with other dogs and cats! He will be a great addition to a chill family with older children! Cooper is fully vetting and ready to meet his new family!

Todays medical spotlight is
“Little Lumpy”
Her health (and sassy attitide)is really a dumpster fire but we love her!

She has mast cell cancer ALL over her body. She came to us at only 4 months old which is quite rare to see a pup this young with such a severe case.

Shes got a long road ahead and her treatment is still early. Shes 1000% sass and is very vocal about how she feels.

Mast cell is treatable but it takes a long time and a lot of work and cost.
