Hello friends, family, and supporters of Lamia's Rescue Center we have been away from our page for a while. We have been concentrating on some wonderful events happening for the Center and we would love to provide updates for everyone. We have a bit of a mix in news for everyone. Some good, and some not so happy news.
First we would like to start off by saying thank you to each and every one of you. Without your help, and support we could not have accomplished all that we have so far to date. In the time frame the center has been open we have been able to help over 400 critter friends find their forever homes, whether the center took them in ourselves, or provided transportation for them, or arranged for them to go to a fellow rescurer. We are extremely proud we have accomplished this solely on our own and with the help of the centers friends and supporters.
I was always taught by my elders if you have good and not so good news, to lead with the not so good news. So here it goes, now its time for the not so good news... Lamia's Rescue Center is officially closing its doors, but we will not stop rescuing critter friends. We will no longer be a rescue center. However, Everything remains the same for every rescue already within the rescue center.
Now for the good news right? Lamia's Rescue Center will from now on be known as Lamia's Ranch. Here is the exciting part, everything that we have been working on behind the scenes is finally coming to light. We have been diligently working on expanding!!!!!! It's not the 3,000 acre sanctuary we would like our end goal to be, but it is a wonderful start, and hopefully we will expand even further. We are expanding to almost 23 acres!!!! We will now be refocusing our rescuing efforts. One huge focus is on all natural habitats for our critter friends that are at Lamia's Ranch. We will also be self sustaining. We are starting from scratch with an all wooded lot. We also (in the future) may have the ability to ad another 30-35 acres to us making our total acreage around 55-58 acres. For now we are extremely excited for the 23 acres we have.
We plan to have a 10x10 iguana habitat, a 10x10 water dragon habitat, (3) 40x40x40 aviaries, 16x16 tortious habitat and so much more.
Although there are tons of moving parts for this relocation, do not fear everything remains the same. If you need help, reach out. If you want to help, reach out. After things are settled we will be allowing everyone the opportunity to come to the Ranch by appointment only. However as of now that is not an option. We also plan to have streaming cameras for our habitats so you can watch them live. As always thank you for your time, help, and donations. You make it possible for us to do, and continue to do the work that we do to help every critter friend we can.
