Dogs Without Borders is a 501c3 non-profit, small dog rescue that saves homeless & abandoned dogs from high-kill shelters in the Los Angeles area, and find them permanent and loving homes. We require an adoption application and a home-check. Our adoption fees are listed on our website. All dogs are spayed/ neutered, vaccinated and micro-chipped prior to adoption, and come with a DWB ID tag.

Bella Bella Cinderella is looking for a forever home!
She was dumped at the shelter wiltering in pain from a large mass in her mouth. She couldn’t eat, would cower at human touch, and stood no chance at the shelter. We stepped in and got her the veterinary care, food, and compassion she deserved! She is blossoming in foster care and although wary of strangers, is learning that not all people are going to neglect and hurt her.
Will you give this senior a 2nd leash on life? She spends most of her time napping in her crate or in her dog bed.

Adopt Athena!

Athena is a beautiful girl who is going to make a loyal companion in the right home. She and her brothers were dumped at the shelter at 4 months old with no mother or father. Underweight, scratched up, confused and hopeless, we simply had to help. It’s clear she had to fight for food during her short life and is just learning that she does not have to guard herself and her food anymore.

In her foster home, Athena is a very sweet & silly girl. She loves to sleep and lay around the house. When in the backyard, she gets small bursts of energy & likes to play but otherwise enjoys watching others run around while she receives pets.

She loves companionship & enjoys being near her fur-buddies or within petting range of her person. She can get shy with new things, but warms up quickly & takes comfort in seeing her fur-friends doing things with her.

She is very alert & will perk up if she hears different noises or even barking on the TV. She is smart & food motivated. Her potty training is going well & goes outside on a regular schedule.

Once she warms up to you, she is a loyal dog and will want to stick by your side.

As an Armenian Gampr, we expect she will be over 100 lbs full grown. Armenian Gamprs are known for their gentle nature with families and livestock, but also their strong protective instincts and independent nature. They are intelligent, loyal, and fiercely protective of their family and territory, but can be wary of strangers and require early socialization. While not naturally playful, they are calm and steady, making them excellent guardians.

Adopt our sweet senior Cookie!

Cookie is a gentle and loving senior boy who is looking for a forever home and hero. He is a 10 yr old playful dog who, despite his heart murmur, loves his daily short walks, rolling in the grass, cars rides, and snuggles. He is dog friendly and loves human contact. Food is his love language! He is a bit hard of hearing but that doesn’t stop him!

Because of his diagnosed heart murmur, he required 4 medications to keep him living his best life. If you have a soft spot for medical senior pups, please consider giving Cookie the loving home that he deserves.

*If you can’t adopt Cookie but would love to support or sponsor him, please consider donating to help pay for his monthly medications. His 4 medications cost around $250 a month and we are doing everything we can to support Cookie in his golden years. 🐶 🙏🏽 💙

Adopt Gidget!

Sweet Gidget has been with us for over a year now and still hasn’t had one adoption application. 🥹 She is now in her 5th or 6th foster home and we think it’s time to get this girl into her forever home! 🙏🏽 🏡

Gidget is very affectionate and loves everyone she meets (it’s mutual!). With her big ears and even bigger personality, she’s the perfect mix of sweet and spunky.

Gidget is often more like a pig than she is a dog—sometimes, you might even hear her little oinks in her sleep (probably dreaming of her pre-diet, people-food feasts).

She’s great with other dogs off-leash, but on walks, she tends to growl but she is easily corrected with a leash tug and listens to “no”.

Gidget is fully potty trained and crate trained! Gidget would absolutely love a yard to run and play in—she’s recently discovered her passion for fetch and will play for hours on end if you let her.

Gidget is an absolute joy to have around—a loyal, loving companion with a touch of sass. If you’re looking for a sweet girl who will keep you on your toes but never leave your side, Gidget is the one for you. 💜 🐶

urgent foster needed for Zoey!

My name is Zoey and I’m as sweet as they come. I have a very easy going personality. I love everyone, including kids. I haven’t been around other dogs because I’ve been getting over a cold but most likely would do great. I’m potty trained and I know how to sit. I’m pretty low energy and low maintenance. My favorite thing to do is cuddle and be around my humans. And might I add, I have beautiful lucious locks and I love to give big juicy kisses😉

Zoey is currently finishing a round of antibiotics for her cold and cough. Once she is feeling better and her milk is dried up, she will be looking for a foster that can take her to get spayed at our vet in Simi Valley or Highland Park

🌈 Rest in Peace, Snoopy 🐾💔

This morning at 9:42 AM, our sweet Snoopy lost his brave battle with Parvo. This one hurts deeply. This is really not how we wanted to spend National Dog Day 🙁 But today, we will honor him and dedicate this one to him….

A few weeks ago, you-our incredible community-rallied around Snoopy during our fundraiser. Thanks to your generosity, we raised enough to hospitalize him when he first started showing symptoms. Despite two negative Parvo tests, a negative f***l test, and bloodwork showing an infection, Snoopy seemed to bounce back. He was eating, wagging his tail, and spent five joyful days with his foster family, seemingly on the mend….

But last Friday, he took a sudden turn, vomiting again. We rushed him to the vet, where a Parvo test came back positive. We fought hard, starting him on a new antibody treatment that’s saved so many dogs. Our vet hadn’t lost a pup to Parvo since using these shots….until today.

Snoopy fought with all his heart, but he’s now at peace, free from pain. While he’s no longer suffering, our hearts are heavy. He didn’t deserve this.
To everyone who donated, shared, or sent love…thank you. Your support gave Snoopy a fighting chance, and we did everything we could for our little warrior.
Rest easy, Snoopy. You’ll forever be in our hearts. 🐶✨

Skye is a sweet, cuddly pup who loves nothing more than playtime with her toys and snuggling up when it’s time to rest. She has the perfect balance of energy—ready to romp when you’re available but happy to relax when you’re busy. At home, she’s silly, affectionate, and easygoing, though she can be a little nervous in new situations and may take some time to warm up to men.
Skye gets along well with other dogs one-on-one, though she’s a bit shy in larger groups.
She’s potty trained, enjoys her walks, and would thrive in a loving home—whether that’s with a single person, a couple, or a family.

Foster Needed for Tammy!
Adorable Tammy was rescued her last week from South La Shelter and she’s still looking for a foster home. She was surrender from a hoarding case ideally she would go to a home with another small dog so she feels more comfortable.

Tammy a little nervous so she will need an adult only home and someone who can give her time to adjust and settle in.

Our Story

We are a non-profit, Los Angeles Dog Rescue pulling small breeds from local shelters and working with international rescuers to re-home at-risk dogs from overseas.

We screen potential applicants to make sure the dog is right fit for their home. We require an adoption application and a home-check. Our adoption fees for adult dogs are $325 (puppies 6mo-1year are $350. Puppies under 6 months are $425). All dogs are spayed/ neutered, vaccinated and micro-chipped prior to adoption, and come with a DWB ID tag.
