Dogs Without Borders is a 501c3 non-profit, small dog rescue that saves homeless & abandoned dogs from high-kill shelters in the Los Angeles area, and find them permanent and loving homes. We require an adoption application and a home-check. Our adoption fees are listed on our website. All dogs are spayed/ neutered, vaccinated and micro-chipped prior to adoption, and come with a DWB ID tag.

Happy is filled with energy and is the sweetest puppy around. She is looking for an urgent foster home that can let her run around and play! Happy would love a yard or another dog that can match her energy.

Zeus is looking for his forever home! 4 months, 33 lbs, male, Armenian Gampr.
Zeus is a beautiful puppy who is going to make a loyal companion in the right home. He and his siblings were dumped at the shelter at 4 months old with no mother or father. Underweight, scratched up, confused and hopeless, we simply had to help. It’s clear he had to fight for food during his short life and is just learning that he does not have to guard himself or his food anymore.

He needs a confident and strong handler to guide him on is path to adulthood. Once he warms up to you, he is a loyal dog and will want to stick by your side.

As an Armenian Gampr, we expect he will be over 100 lbs full grown. Armenian Gamprs are known for their gentle nature with families and livestock, but also their strong protective instincts and independent nature. They are intelligent, loyal, and fiercely protective of their family and territory, but can be wary of strangers and require early socialization. While not naturally playful, they are calm and steady, making them excellent guardians. Adopt Zeus!

Etsy is currently at a temporary fosters house decompressing but will need a new foster home by Saturday 8/16. She will need a quiet and calm place to relax. Etsy is very scared and cautious and would be best in an adult only home. She is going to need a foster that can be patient and give her time and space to open up. She is not leash trained or potty trained but hopefully she can learn this once she settles in. 🙏

He needs a temp this week! 8/15-8/19

Jett is a cuddle bug who loves exploring! He enjoys walks and at first will pull on the leash but within minutes is more relaxed. So far, he’s enjoyed meeting dogs of every size and loves to play. Jett is also thrilled to lay next to you on the couch for snuggles and belly rubs before taking a nap! He’s enjoyed meeting everyone and gets pets from them. He is a gem of a dog who deserves the very best forever home!

Pepper is a sweet, quiet soul who’s still adjusting to her new reality. She was surrendered to the shelter after biting a child. Since being out of the shelter she has seemed to relish attention from all humans and is learning basic dog skills too. She adores human companionship, naps, car rides, and love. She’s still learning to trust the world again, but you can tell she has a loving heart just waiting to shine.
She would do best in a patient home that can take their time with her and let her become the best girl she can be!

Kid is ready for his forever home! 10 yrs, 4.5 lbs.
Meet the cutest KID on the block! This senior boy is all smiles with his 4 teeth (leftover after his first dental likely ever). He is teeny in size but his heart is mighty. Due to his small size, a home without young kids is best. He is people friendly and good with other small dogs. He is on medication for a heart murmur as well that will need to continue for the rest of his life. Save a senior!

Meet new rescue Athena who is looking for the right forever home! 4 months, 30 lbs, Armenian Gampr. Athena is a beautiful girl who is going to make a loyal companion in the right home. She and her brothers were dumped at the shelter at 4 months old with no mother or father. Underweight, scratched up, confused and hopeless, we simply had to help. It’s clear she had to fight for food during her short life and is just learning that she does not have to guard herself and her food anymore.

In her foster home, Athena is a very sweet & silly girl. She loves to sleep and lay around the house. When in the backyard, she gets small bursts of energy & likes to play but otherwise enjoys watching others run around while she receives pets.

She loves companionship & enjoys being near her large dog fur-buddies or within petting range of her person. She can get shy with new things, but warms up quickly & takes comfort in seeing her fur-friends doing things with her.

She is very alert & will perk up if she hears different noises or even barking on the TV. She is smart & food motivated. Her potty training is going well & goes outside on a regular schedule.

Once she warms up to you, she is a loyal dog and will want to stick by your side.

Our Story

We are a non-profit, Los Angeles Dog Rescue pulling small breeds from local shelters and working with international rescuers to re-home at-risk dogs from overseas.

We screen potential applicants to make sure the dog is right fit for their home. We require an adoption application and a home-check. Our adoption fees for adult dogs are $325 (puppies 6mo-1year are $350. Puppies under 6 months are $425). All dogs are spayed/ neutered, vaccinated and micro-chipped prior to adoption, and come with a DWB ID tag.
