To commemorate the one year anniversary of GGAGA (Grooms, Giggles and Great Awakenings) here are some of my recent furry friends for you to enjoy. It delights me how happy they always are for their after-groom pictures 🥰 Many of my pups are getting older, and some of them are new to the whole grooming process, but they are all my favorite 😍 I am so incredibly grateful for each and every one of my amazing clients, and I am beyond thankful to everyone who has supported me in my journey. Thank you for a wonderful first year!! 🤗🐾🎂

Made myself a new buddy today! He's a great big baby (I swear, I can get your nails done in under 5 minutes if you just don't fight! S'okay buddy, you'll learn) but he made sure to tell me thank you and come back for one last "okay bye!". I'm looking forward to playing with this big boy again 🥰

Oh, it feels GOOD to be back at it! I've missed my snuggle pups! I'm worn out, and I'm sure all the doggos that came to play today are too, but they look fabulous, smell delightful, feel better, and are ready for all the loves and a good night's sleep at home tonight 🥰

I am so blessed to have such amazing clients. Thanks to COVID, I'm on a forced leave that means I had to cancel a few appointments for my furry friends and lock down my house. One of my clients (that I had to cancel on) has made this miserable experience just a wee bit more bearable, just by checking in, providing a few smiles via text, and offering to drop by anything we might need. Her kindness has made my heart so full. I love my clients, four legs or two, they all leave pawprints on my heart ❤🐾

This little guy, as cute and cuddly as he may seem, has done what no dog in a number of years has accomplished and sank his teeth into me today. In the 16 years I've been working with animals, I've been head butted, donkey kicked, sat on, scratched (some of my best scars are from scratches), peed on, pooped on, puked on, bled on, had glands expressed on me, you name it, it's happened. There's even a handful of pups (and 1 cat) that have bit me. A LARGE majority of those bites did not break skin. This handsome fella here is WONDERFUL for the bath, and even the blow drying. But during the haircut, he is unpredictable and very angry. At least he looks cute for Christmas!

Y'all, follow Bob Barker's advice, get your pets spayed/neutered. 😉

My favorite naughty boy! We've been thru some stuff over the years, and I will forever be grateful that he finally trusts me enough to let me touch his face. His dad told me he needed to get cleaned up for Christmas, and my Charlie was the best boy he could be and let me make him extra handsome. I've always told him that if he'd just let me near his face without a fight, he'd be the cutest boy in all the town 😍

I've been working with animals for roughly 17 years, and have been a groomer for almost 16 of those. Even groomers at large/corporate salons are responsible for their tools and the maintenance of those tools, and lemme tell ya- the good stuff does not come cheap. I only use quality shampoos and products on the pets I work with, which again, do not come cheap. The physical damage I've done to myself over the years causes daily complications, but you can bet I never think about my own safety (or my back) when I've got a dog that has decided to kamikaze off the table and tries to fly. My dogs always come first, I can deal with my various injuries later, and I'm sure previous coworkers have stories of me getting bit or scratched and continuing on (many times having someone else bandage me up while I was still going). After all these years, I still am constantly searching to grow my knowledge base and improve my skills, and I frequently confer with my dog-training specialist daughter, or friends still in the biz, to come up with methods to manage the doggos that aren't as fond of being handled. With the holiday season in full swing, don't forget that you get what you pay for, and with grooming, you aren't paying for just the groomer's time, you're paying for their experience and expertise. 🎄 🐾 🎁

Meet our neighborhood watch dog! Don't try to convince him that he's a little dog, he'll tell you all about yourself! 🤣 We're still working on not attacking the blow dryer and remembering to stay awake during the haircut (he starts trying to nap right around the time I get to his face-i still haven't determined if he's worn out from trying to fight the air- beast, or he finds the haircut that relaxing 🤷🏼‍♀️). He has GREATLY improved, and his little human is now excited to bring her puppy to me, instead of crying when they leave him. I'll claim it as a success 😁

These sisters are so silly. Blondie is an angel, but it's the most nervous-nelly around and used to piddle a little every time she came to see me. Nowadays, she struts in like she owns the place. Little sister is still a puppy and is learning the types. She gets most concerned when her big sister gets more attention than her. At the end of it all, they're both precious pups 🥰

I kept trying to tell this feisty fella that if he would just stop trying to establish dominance, we'd be finished so much quicker. But what do I know, I'm just the alpha here 🤷🏼‍♀️ He's still young yet, and has only been to play with me twice, so I'll forgive him. With as sweet as he is when he isn't randomly being snippy, I just know he'll soon be a perfect angel from start to finish. ❤

I've been working with this sweet girl for many (many, MANY) years, and today she allowed me to brush out a majority of her! I shaved her tummy and inside all four of her legs, since that's what matts up when she lays around and does lazy old lady dog things, but I managed to save EVERYTHING else!! We did end up taking her to her "usual" short length, but I love how cute she looked when she was tangle free and longer 😍
