Meet Joe — a resilient, loving soul who’s been let down more times than any dog should.

Joe was found tied to a park bench and abandoned. Afterward, someone claiming to be his owner was posting all over that she was coming to get him... but she never showed up. Just like that, he was forgotten again.

But we haven’t forgotten. And we never will. ❤️

We’ve made sure Joe is neutered, fully vetted, and ready to go HOME. He is so sweet and friendly with everyone he meets.

Now it's our turn to help Joe and his friends in the RUFF Program— find the love they deserve.

Meet Lola! 🐾

Lola is a sweet, approx. 1-year-old terrier mix who was found as a stray and brought to Olean Dog Control. Sadly, no one came forward to claim her — but thanks to the support of Empire Animal Rescue Society (EARS), her future is looking much brighter!

Lola is now fully vetted and currently thriving in our Rescued Under Federal Fences program, where she’s working on building her confidence and learning that the world isn’t such a scary place after all. 💕 She’s blossoming into a loving, curious girl who’s ready for her forever home.

So many great pups looking for their forever home! Many of these pups were treated poorly, given little hope at a good life, before coming to EARS. The program has helped to trust people again, to be able to be a dog, and have hope for a better future. Now let's help find them their forever home!

Welcome Tyson to RUFF!
Tyson is 1-2 yrs old, MN pit mix. He is pocket sized! This handsome bean is full of life and ready to snuggle. Tyson is new to the program and here to work on basic commands and leash walking. He likes to chew on bones and play ball in the yard, after a play session prefers a good nap. He is crate trained, housebroken, and good with kids. Cats however, are his nemesis and would be best in a home with no small animals.

Happy 2025 and Meet my January pet of the month, Remi!

Remi was found as a stray and despite probably never knowing love, this brave mom protected and took care of her babies. All of her pups have found their homes and now Remi needs her hero.

Remi is a sweet and shy little girl who has been working on blossoming into the most loving and adorable companion!
While still shy, she has been coming out of her shell! She is attentive and caring, and loves her toys and bones. She gets along with other animals, and in a patient home she will continue to thrive!
