Please join us in congratulating Asya, our Assistant Manager and resident dog trainer and behaviorist, who recently passed all the qualifications required to gain certification as a Certified Professional Dog Trainer - Knowledge Assessed (CPDT-KA) through the Certification Council for Professional Dog Trainers (CCPDT).

According to the CCPDT, this certification demonstrates Asya's knowledge and understanding "of the field of dog training, including instruction skills, learning theory, ethology, equipment, and animal husbandry." It requires adherence to a strict Code of Ethics, as well as a dedication to continuing education in order to maintain these credentials.

We are so excited to have Asya on our staff to help provide training and behavior modification to our in-house animals, as well as to members of the community.

For The Love of Dogs has had a bit of Radio silence, but we are still here. Meet Dana Heuschkel. A long time friend and fellow animal lover. She has stepped up and does most dog walks and baths currently. She helps with pet sitting as well. It takes a village.

As many of you know I, Cory, have started a grocery provisioning service. Animals have always been a passion, I have education and background in animal services, but I have purposely chose to not make this a full time job to avoid compassion fatigue.

Dana, myself and a few other animal lovers make up the “For The Love of Dogs” team to help community members and their pets when we can. Feel free and send us inquiries and we will do our best to assist.

Good Day,

For The Love of Dogs has been a bit quiet as far as it’s online presence lately. I would like to explain why and also give some insight into some changes with our business handlings in the future.

As many of you know, I, Cory Emerson, founder and creator of For The Love of Dogs, has a ton of caring and love invested into this truly heartfelt service. I have done a lot of animal care and training throughout my life and I have kept this business as a hobby, not promoting it for monetary gain, rather pursuing its successes through the people and pets I have helped.

That being said it has grown organically with need. My personal life has grown as well, I have a new family, and a new business. I am currently away from home taking care of other homes 6 months out of the year and I will not be able to keep this pace.

I can not leave the pet care business because I value it greatly but I am making some changes.

Moving forward all overnight stays and dog walks will be managed and overseen by a team of individuals that work hand in hand with me. By using multiple members, all pets will get the care and attention I know they need and deserve consistently. Everyone that works with me I know personally and would trust them with my home and pet as well.

I will be completely transparent with owners on who my team members are and when they will be at their homes. Communication is key for people and their pets. We are here to put your mind at ease to know your fur babies are well cared for. I am available for any and all questions. Be well Love City there is so much love in my heart for the community members and those with four paws.
