For: Dogs and Cats
Cost: FREE!

What’s included:
- Dogs: spay/neuter, core vaccines, microchip, rabies vaccination, flea/tick preventative
- Cats: spay/neuter, core vaccine, rabies vaccine, microchip, flea/tick preventative. All outdoor cats will be ear tipped.

No-Cost Pet Care Clinic in St. Thomas🐾

The Virgin Islands Department of Health, in partnership with the Humane Society of St. Thomas, is offering a two-week Pet Care Clinic from June 17–28, 2025. This initiative, supported by the U.S. Department of Defense’s Innovative Readiness Training (IRT) Program, provides comprehensive veterinary services at no cost to pet owners.

Community cat care tip: Keep cats' feeding area clean!

Feed on plates or in dishes rather than throwing food on the ground. Then, remove any uneaten food after 30 minutes and clean up. Leaving food can attract insects and wildlife and lead to foul odors.

These best practices not only help cats stay comfortable in their outdoor home, it decreases the chance of concerns or complaints from community members.

🌟 A Huge Thank You to Our Amazing Community!

This weekend, the Virgin Islands Spay and Neuter team achieved something truly incredible. Over the past two days, we successfully completed a high-volume, high-quality spay and neuter clinic, treating 125 animals on St Thomas! 🎉

112 cat surgeries (plus 2 trapped cats that were previously neutered received vaccines and flea prevention)
9 dog surgeries
2 dogs that weren’t quite ready for surgery received critical wellness care.

This clinic could not have been a success without the unwavering support of our community. A special thank you goes out to all the volunteers and animal caretakers who adapted so gracefully during technical glitches. Your dedication ensured that every animal came through safely and successfully. 🙏

Most of the cats were part of the Trap-Neuter-Vaccinate-Return program, benefiting various colonies around St. Thomas. Caretakers and volunteers spent untold hours prepping, trapping, and transporting so we could provide for as many animals as possible. We also had the privilege of helping seven community dogs and performing some life-saving surgeries. 🐱🐶

We are also immensely grateful to the team from Massachusetts for coming down to make this clinic possible. Your expertise and kindness made all the difference. ❤️

Thank you once again to everyone involved. Together, we’re making a significant impact in the Virgin Islands!

Calling STT volunteers!

We’ll need transport help getting critters to/from their spay appointments this Saturday and Sunday. If you have early morning availability and a willing vehicle, please reach out!

Locations where Animal Ubers are needed:
- Fortuna (truck, large SUV, or multiple cars required)
- Lindbergh/airport area
- Hull Bay
- Wintberg area (truck, large SUV, or multiple cars required)
- Smith Bay (truck, large SUV required)
- Sapphire
- Red Hook

All cats and dogs will be secured in carriers, traps, or crates.

Appointment check in time is 8-9, depending on animals.
Pick up time for return is between 4-5.

We are one week away from our first clinic of the year on St Thomas!

We still have cat appointments available at our high-volume, high-quality Spay and Neuter Clinic next weekend, February 15 and 16! 🐾

During the surgery, all animals will receive core vaccinations and flea preventative at no extra cost! We can also microchip and provide rabies vaccine for $20.
