Canine Country is looking to add a full time groomer to our team. We pride ourselves on providing a safe and happy grooming environment for the pets in our care. Our ideal candidate will posses attention to detail, has a love of dogs, a willingness to work as part of a team, and good interpersonal skills. We are a to***co free workplace.

The majority of our clients maintain a regular schedule, and we require our large dogs to come a minimum of every six weeks. Our goal is to set the dogs up for success, and help them to enjoy the grooming process as much as possible. We don’t do excessive dematting and we work with anxious dogs by setting them up on a frequent schedule to help them acclimate. Our salon is owned by two groomers.

Daily job requirements include lifting, bending, and standing for long periods of time.

Duties include haircuts on small and large dogs, checking clients in and out, and answering phones, as well as sanitization of the grooming area, tools, and station.

Applicants must be at least 18 years old and have previous professional experience as a groomer. Employees receive one week of paid vacation after a consecutive year of employment. This is a W-2 position.

Hours: Tuesday through Saturday, starting at 8am.

It’s official, we’re open again! We’re happy to be back to doing what we love, taking care of your pups! 🥰 We’ve been working diligently all week to try to get everyone rescheduled, but please understand we have many, many people to call, so if we haven’t gotten to you yet, we will!

We’ve updated our pickup and dropoff procedures to be as safe as possible. We weren’t comfortable doing curbside, because there’s always a risk somebody’s pup could slip out of their harness or collar. It took some imagination, but we’ve managed to come up with a safe, contactless method. For now, we’ll be using our back entrance for pickup and dropoff. We have instructions posted there. If you want to pay with credit/debit, we’re currently only accepting payments through PayPal.me/CanineCountryFL.

Governor DeSantis’ Stay at Home order deems pet grooming non-essential, but stores that sell pet food and supplies can still operate their grooming salons under the guise of being an essential business. This is frustrating for small businesses like ours, but we can't wait to reopen and see all of you again! 🐶💕

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis’ April 1 safer-at-home order defines “pet care” as essential and, therefore, retailers who sell pet supplies and food can remain open.

Canine Country will be temporarily closed as of the end of business this past saturday, March 21st.

This was a difficult decision for us to make, but the health and safety of our clients, staff, and families must come first.

At this time it’s impossible to tell when we’ll be able to reopen. We hope that we’ll be able to resume our normal schedule very soon, but until the situation is more clear we won’t be able to reschedule appointments. If you have a scheduled appointment, we’ll be calling to let you know of the cancellation.

We will keep you up to date with any information we have as the situation changes. We appreciate your understanding and support during this time.

In the meantime, we’ve made a short video on some steps you can take to maintain your dogs at home in the event your normal grooming schedule is interrupted.

If you haven’t already heard, Michael and Alexis had their baby on September 18th. Alexis will be out for several weeks, but our regular business hours will resume tomorrow.
