SEVEN adoptions in a single day. 🥹🎉

Today, seven YAPS pets packed their bags and headed home with families of their very own. Every adoption is worth celebrating, but days like today remind us why we do this work.

The best part? There are still so many incredible puppies, kittens, dogs, and cats waiting for their turn.

Every animal in our care deserves a team that's ready for anything.

Thanks to a grant from the ASPCA and an amazing class from , our entire YAPS staff is now Pet First Aid & CPR certified. 🐾

Because the animals who come to us are often vulnerable, medically fragile, or recovering from difficult situations — and when every second counts, we want to be prepared.

This is what it looks like when we take our commitment to animal care seriously. Not just love and good intentions — but skills, training, and the knowledge to act when it matters most.

We are so grateful to the ASPCA for making this possible, and so proud of this incredible team. 💛 And a huge thank you to Enlighten and all of our community partners who were able to attend.

The animals in our care are in good hands. Literally. 🐾

He was adopted as a puppy. He came back through no fault of his own.

And now Rocky, previously Prosciutto, is ready to find his person — for good this time.

This sweet Aussie/Pit mix has so much love to give. He's gentle with kids, great with other dogs, and somehow still one of the happiest, most trusting dogs in our kennel despite everything he's been through.

He didn't do anything wrong. Life just changed around him.

Rocky deserves a home that sticks. A family who chooses him — and keeps choosing him.

🇺🇸❤️ Today, we remember. ❤️🇺🇸

This Memorial Day, all of us at YAPS are honoring and remembering the brave people who gave their lives in service to our country. Their sacrifice gave us the freedom to build community, show compassion, and live the lives we do — including caring for the animals who rely on us every day.

As you spend time with loved ones today, we also encourage everyone to keep pets safe during the holiday festivities:
🐾 Keep pets indoors and secure during fireworks
🐾 Make sure collars and ID tags are secure
🐾 Offer a quiet, comfortable place to decompress

And of course… if your BBQ guests “accidentally” slip the dog a hot dog under the table, we saw nothing. 🌭👀

Grab coffee, a free pastry, and help support lifesaving rescue work while getting your steps in!
