Okay, okay... it took me a while to make this. 😅
I’m sorry to everyone who’s been waiting (and yes, I know, it’s still not a full website... but let’s all applaud the ADHD for cooperating today).
ANYWAY.
Since this page is finally live, it feels only right to start by spotlighting the dogs that built Starlit Grove Aussies, and the journey that brought me here.
So first up...
❓Who’s the dog in the logo?
Her name is Luna 🌙✨
(Yes, it’s plain. Yes, I know. 😆)
But no, she wasn’t named because it was trendy or moon-themed.
I named her for the stars... because that’s where we were aiming.
I brought Luna home in 2019. She was meant to be my kennel foundation, my first agility dog, my first dog after stepping away from canine rescue and rehab, and the first purposefully acquired purebred dog of my adult life.
She represented a new chapter for me.
Over the first two years with Luna, I learned more than I ever expected... about structure, temperament, health, genetics, sport suitability, and what it truly means to breed responsibly. And through that growth, I came to a hard but important realization...
As much as I loved her, Luna was not the right dog to carry forward a breeding program.
So Luna was spayed, retired from competition, and placed where she could thrive as what she truly was meant to be... a deeply loved companion. She now lives her best life with my ex, spoiled rotten and cherished.
And even though she isn’t producing puppies, her impact on my life and on the direction of this kennel can’t be overstated.
She is the reason Starlit Grove exists at all.
Luna may not be in the whelping box, but she will always be at the heart of this program. 🌙✨
