Our Mission Statement

At Teamworks, our goal is to help you create a successful relationship with your dog by building trust and mutual understanding. We believe in and use family-friendly, humane training methods that enable effective communication between people and dogs. We teach our classes using positive-reinforcement based training and encourage the use of humane "people empowering" techniq

ues. We do not use or tolerate harsh physical punishment-based methods, as that outdated style of training has been shown to damage the bond between dog and person, and often escalates aggression. We subscribe to and agree with the humane training standards set forth by the National Association of Dog Obedience Instructors,The Association of Pet Dog Trainers and the American Veterinary Society of Animal Behavior's recommendations for dog training.

Over the past 26 years, Teamworks/the owner has fostered, trained and placed over 60 rescue dogs. We have raised money for the American Red Cross, The Canine Cancer Foundation, and ROLDA (an animal shelter in Romania that takes in the homeless dogs of Ukraine). We have held events that specifically benefit breed rescue groups and local shelters. We have given free seminars about dog behavior and published a book about dog bite prevention for families. We have also given several dog community people a place to live who just needed a safe place to land and get back on their feet again. We care very much about people, their dogs and our community.

Recent firings have caused a lot of mixed emotions in the community. We have taken corrective action and have implemented preventative protocols.

Please know that we remain committed to helping people and their dogs, as we have done for the past 26 years. Going forward, we will make sure the people we help are screened first.

Any employee of Teamworks will be subject to a background check before they are hired and updated background checks during employment. Anyone not passing a background check will not be hired or will be fired. Two individuals have been fired recently and will no longer be allowed on the Teamworks grounds.
