Purr Partners Feline Rescue is a 501(c)(3), no-kill, foster-based, all-volunteer organization dedicated to saving the lives of cats and kittens in Central North Carolina.

Part-time play expert, full-time cuddle bug. Shandy is a sweet, playful goofball who believes every box is a luxury condo, every toy is personally his, and every lap was created specifically for snuggling. 💕

He loves chasing anything that moves, making his humans laugh, and curling up for some serious cuddle time when the zoomies are over. With a heart as big as his personality, Shandy is equal parts silly, sweet, and irresistibly snuggly. 😻

And even better, if you are looking for a pair of kittens he comes with a sister, Sunkist. 🐾 They don't have to be adopted together but pairs are nice.

Have you considered fostering a cat or kitten? Here are a few reason that you should.

1. So many cats and kittens need rescue and more every day. Many of these will lose their lives because there is no available help.
- Shelters are not set up with enough staff to give kittens the care they need. Kittens are highly susceptible to endemic disease in shelters. Kittens may be euthanized because care is not available.
- Kittens outside are exposed to dangers from other animals, humans, and disease.
- During kitten season especially adult cats have little chance of finding help.
- So many cats are being taken to shelters or worse, abandoned because they are inconvenient or no longer wanted.

2. Some people think rescues can take unlimited numbers of cats and kittens. Not true. If there is no foster available for that kitty to be cared for the rescue would be over extending it's resources, it's fosters and funds, and would soon be out of rescue entirely.
- We get at least a hundred calls each week wanting Purr Partners to take a cat or kittens because they can no longer help. Some calls are legitimate but many just want someone else to be responsible.

3. Fosters are people like any of us. They are the ones who see a need and figure out how they can help.
- A bathroom or bedroom can become a foster space. Any small space is preferable to a cage in a shelter or being killed.
- We have experienced fosters who will help and teach you. You don't need experience to get started. It's usually a learn as you go opportunity.
- Purr Partners provides all supplies, medicine, and instruction.
- Fosters are needed for kittens, teens, adults, or hospice depending on your interest.
- You make like minded friends.
- You can do it. We did and became part of the caring network.

Sweet, playful, beautiful, and effortlessly charming, Sunkist is a little ray of sunshine with a classy side. She knows how to steal hearts with her playful personality and elegant presence.

Whether she’s busy having fun or simply looking fabulous, Sunkist has a way of making every moment brighter.

Her favorite activities include enjoying a nice lap snuggle and receiving lots of attention. This young lady would enjoy older children for playmates and gets along well with other cats. 💛✨

She'll need consistent daily brushing and will appreciate human or feline companionship. If she sounds like the kitty for you read our adoption policies on our web site and submit your application. Ask to me our Sunkist.

Kitties that were keeping our Wake Forest Adoptathon alive and purr-fect today.
They have all gone back to their foster homes if not adopted to rest up from being cute all day. But, we'll be back next weekend with more kitties.

I just couldn't resist taking lots of photos of the charming kittens at our Adoptathon at Six Forks Station PetSmart this weekend.

Taco Bell is adorable with huge eyes and a short nose which make you wonder if she has a Persian gene mixed in there. This playful girl love to be where the action is and makes everything a game. She couldn't be any sweeter.

Isaiah entertained me with rolls and flips just to let me know what a cutie he is. This special boy has not tail. He's a Manx kitten!

Imara was having a well deserved nap. I understand that this Manx Cross beauty is quite social and active when she is in her element. She did open those gorgeous blue eyes for me.

On this Halloween night we want to tell you again how scary it is for all the kitties that have been abandoned, surrendered, and neglected. They need rescue and we're doing that to the best of our ability but we always need your help.

Rescue is not a treat. It's life to a kitty who needs us.

Thursday was National Cat Day but at Purr Partners every day is cat day and we have some of the cutest furry felines looking for their special person to find them.

We're at the Wake Forest PetSmart and the Six Forks Station PetSmart this weekend.

At Purr Partners, every day is CAT DAY, but today we want to highlight a few of our current fosters that are ready for adoption. These lovely felines have been fully vetted and are ready to pounce into their homes (hopefully with YOU).

Meet a new intake, Yumberry:

This little ball of energy arrived last week with her two siblings and mom, Yara Moon, and she wasted NO time making herself at home! During her intake exam, Yumberry decided the table was the perfect place to practice her pouncing, hopping, and playing skills. Clearly, she had other plans besides sitting still for her checkup!

At Purr Partners, every new arrival receives a thorough intake evaluation, any needed medications and deworming, plus a microchip and age-appropriate vaccines to get them started on the right paw.

At about 6 weeks old, Yumberry and her siblings will stay with Mom while they finish weaning and learn important social skills. Once they’re ready, they’ll head out into the world in search of their forever homes!

For now, Yumberry is busy perfecting her pounce. We think she’s off to a pretty great start!
