4 years ago today Povi Rey King was born.

Grateful to her mom, GB for blessing us with such a precious foal!

GB was a lost soul of a rescue who came to us abused, broken and disconnected. Giving birth to Povi healed her, giving her new life full of hope and purpose and changed us as well when we witnessed this miracle.

We will never seperate these two.

Josephine has a thing for hats and we have proof! 🎩💛

When this sweet lady came to visit the ranch, Josephine could not stop staring at her hat. Following her around, watching closely… clearly very interested. 😜

Finally, she took the hat off and placed it on Josephine-and instantly, Josephine turned into the proudest little peacock. She stood there looking so pleased with herself, soaking up every second of the attention. She absolutely knew she looked fabulous.

Her modeling career with may not have lasted long 😂, but she was willing… and absolutely hysterical.

Josephine keeps us laughing every day with her huge personality, sweet nature, and funny little quirks.

Honestly, all this girl needs now is a hat company sponsor. 🎩✨

Good Morning Blue Eyes!

That's the way we start every morning with sweet Rocky at the gate.

Rocky is an albino horse with transparent ice blue and pink eyes. He was transported to us from the southwestern boarder of New Mexico almost 3 years ago. Honestly, that day we loaded him off the trailer we didn't think Rocky would be with us for more than a few months due to all his health issues. Today Rocky is 16 years of age and is the happiest guy, grateful to be loved and cared for. Rocky has a rotating and a deterioting coffin bone along with laminitis, seedy toe and arthritis. He gets daily pain management along with Isoxsuprine HCL,which stimulates blood flow into this hooves and periodic treatment of the drug Adequan to help with progression of arthritis. Rocky also gets a couple squirts daily in his sugar free grain of Smart Earth Camelina - USA, a super natural anti- inflammatory oil with high Omega -3 which helps him with joint pain and bone structure.

So grateful to have Dr. Bessie Babits on this journey! She has developed a pain management plan that is working, she treats Rocky with special trims, monitors the rotation of his coffin bone with x-rays and gives him best of care!!!! What an amazing, patient and loving kind vet!

Rocky got a new mask today that will block out 95% of UV rays. We are so happy with the way it fit! Our sweet Rocky, his blue eyes, needs his protection, from sunrise to sunset.He must wear a UV mask to protect him from our New Mexico sun or he would go blind.

Rocky is a fighter, he is a lover, he will get all the care and love he deserves for the rest of his life at HCRR as part of our sanctuary family.

We are honored by Rocky's desire to fight for his life. Honored to give him the care he needs and every opportunity to thrive! Honored by his happy heart!

Barn manager, Big Al, found the hummingbird feeder! At first glance we thought it was a raven.

After the hummingbirds started dive bombing him, he retired his post, we hope lesson learned!

Big Al, was found hiding in our Alfalfa bales over a year ago- not certain how he survived his journey to us, but he loves his life as our barn manager and we sure love him!
....one heart at a time!
