Give our new friends A Road Home Rescue a follow. We always love making new connections in the rescue world, especially ones that work along side us to get the animals safe. They have some great dogs up for adoption!

Sarahs dog, Sweet Pea, a scared unsocialized "feral" from Mahoning County Dog Warden was on duty this morning to help find a scared Doodle in Austintown.

We never recommend bringing a second scared dog out to find a lost scared dog, but Sweet Pea is very responsive to Sarah and is glued to her side, plus, she relates to those scared dogs running & is a useful tool in our rescue efforts!

Sweet Pea, sure doesn't like people, but she likes other dogs, cats, kids and her momma!

We have been BUSY!!!

Sarah Jean has dedicated countless hours to the search for Nate Hang flying day after day, coordinating with the Lexington Fire Department, local authorities, Nate's church, family, and friends in the effort to bring him home. We are incredibly proud of her dedication. Please share the flyer below of Nate!

Of course, knowing Sarah, she's also coordinating TNR efforts across not one, not two, but THREE counties. 🫠

And we can't forget about Kane! Remember the "mean, vicious" German Shepherd running amuck through Lisbon on Churchill? Well, Kane is actually the sweetest boy. We were able to speak with his previous owner who surrendered him to us and learn more about him. He is currently in board-and-train (a huge THANK YOU to Camelot Canine ❤️), and if all goes well with his future dog siblings, he'll soon be headed to his forever home. With Camelot's help, we don't think that'll be a problem. 🥹

While we've been busy helping animals and our community, we haven't been able to hold any fundraising events. Between rescue calls, Sarah's health, work, and everyday life, there simply haven't been enough hours in the day.

Right now, our biggest need is FUNDING for the cats and kittens vetting!!!

We are working to get multiple kittens, momma cats, and dad cats spayed and neutered. The kittens and friendly adults will soon be available for adoption through PetSmart, but first they need veterinary care.

Every dollar helps. Every donation goes directly toward helping these animals get healthy, fixed, vaccinated, and ready for their forever homes.

If you'd like to support our mission, please consider making a donation today. We truly cannot do this without you. ❤️

Lately, Sarah Jean has been carrying more than most people realize. Between running Compassionate Paws, responding to emergency calls, caring for animals, managing personal responsibilities, and battling her own health challenges, the weight has become heavy. Be kind.

Compassion fatigue is real. Rescue burnout is real. The heartbreak is real. But no animal, no case, no social media comment, and no person's opinion is worth your life.

At Compassionate Paws, we answer calls about lost pets, injured wildlife, abandoned kittens, emergency vet care, trapping, and animals in crisis because they need someone. The reality is there will never be enough time, money, volunteers, or resources to help every animal.

Some animals make it home. Some find amazing new families. Some receive the medical care they desperately need. And some don't make it. Those are the cases that stay with us.

We don't do this for recognition or approval. We do it for the scared dog hiding in a field, the injured cat with nowhere to go, and the abandoned litter that deserves a chance.

Right now, our biggest need is funding for 14 cats and kittens currently in our care. Every donation helps provide food, veterinary care, vaccinations, and a safe place while they wait for their future families.

Please remember to be kind, not just to the animals, but to the people fighting every day to help them. And if you're able, consider supporting the 14 cats and kittens who need us right now. ❤️

🎆 The Fourth of July is one of the busiest times of year for lost pets.

Every year, shelters, rescues, and search teams are overwhelmed with dogs and cats that panic during fireworks and end up away from home.

✔️ Check your fences.
✔️ Secure your gates.
✔️ Use a properly fitted harness or martingale collar.
✔️ Make sure pets have updated ID tags and microchip information.
✔️ Talk to your veterinarian now if your pet struggles with anxiety during fireworks.

A few minutes of preparation can prevent days, weeks, or even months of searching.

Scared dogs don't think clearly. They run. And once they run, they can be incredibly difficult to find, trap, and safely bring home. Prevention is always easier than recovery.

Please be responsible this Fourth of July and help keep your pets safe at home. ❤️🐾

With all the love,
The Compassionate Paws Foundation team!
