There are plenty of days in veterinary medicine when we experience both ends of the emotional spectrum.

One moment, we may be celebrating a happy, healthy puppy or kitten during their very first visit. The next, we may be helping a family through one of the hardest moments of their lives as they say goodbye to a beloved four-legged family member. 💔

That emotional shift can be incredibly taxing. Our team is expected to move from joy and excitement to compassion and grief—sometimes within minutes—and still be fully present for every patient and every family.

Veterinary medicine is so much more than caring for animals. It means sharing in the happiest moments and the most heartbreaking ones, often all in the same day.

This sweet puppy visit with Dr. O’Neill is a reminder of one side of the job we love so much. 🐾❤️

❤️ A legacy of caring.

Shannon has been part of the Austintown Veterinary Clinic family for 27 years, but her connection to AVC began long before that.

Her dad, Dr. Baker, owned this clinic and cared for generations of pets and their families. Today, Shannon continues that legacy through her own dedication to our patients, our clients, and the clinic she has called home for so many years. 🐾

We know he would be so proud to see her carrying that same love of veterinary medicine and commitment to the families who trust us with their beloved pets.

A Happy Reunion 🐾❤️

This sweet pup came to us after being found by a Good Samaritan. Thankfully, we were able to identify her owner and reunite them—and this happy reunion was the best outcome we could have hoped for! 🥰

This is a great reminder of why microchipping your pet is so important. A collar or ID tag can be lost, but a microchip provides a permanent way to identify your pet.

Just as important: make sure your microchip information stays up to date! If you move, change your phone number, or get a new email address, take a few minutes to update your pet’s microchip registration.

A microchip only helps get your pet home if the information connected to it is current. ❤️

🐾💙 When a stray kitten chooses you… you don’t argue! 🥹🐱

This sweet little stray kitten clearly decided that Julia was his person! He climbed right up onto her shoulder, settled in like he belonged there, and then proceeded to give himself a little bath. 😂💕

There’s just something extra special about the little ones who need a little love and decide to trust us. ❤️🐾
