🐾 Training doesn’t have to be tricky (get it?)! While we associate learning manners with puppies, any age is a good age to learn something new.
Training also can help with anxiety and it’s a great way to engage and bond with your pup!

Check out our tips on when and how to choose a trainer for your pet & share this post with friends who have a pet that could use some help!

😼Hi. It’s me. Your cat. I have heard that the dogs are trying to better themselves this year with some resolutions. Well, I can beat that! I will resolve to:

1. Knock fewer things off the counter. (No promises.)
2. Tolerate the dog…on Tuesdays.
3. Sharpen claws only on the scratching post. (In theory.)
4. Drink more water—maybe from an actual bowl.
5. Graciously allow you to believe you are in charge.

What did we miss? Drop your pet’s 2026 resolution below šŸ‘‡

Is ā€˜living my best life’ at the top of your pet’s 2026 resolution list? 🐶🐱

One of the biggest factors in feeling good—moving easier, playing longer, staying comfortable—is a healthy weight. And you’re not alone if this is something you’re working on with your pet: more than half of dogs and cats are overweight.
The good news? Small changes can make a big difference!

Let’s kick off the New Year helping our pets feel their best—inside and out.
What’s one healthy habit you’re focusing on this year for your pet? šŸ‘‡

šŸ—’ļøHi. It’s me. Your dog. I’ve been thinking about how I can be the bestest version of myself in 2026. This year I resolve to:
1. Not bark at the mail carrier…every single day.
2. Share the couch (but not the blanket).
3. Let you sleep in…at least once a month
4. Try to be brave for my next nail trim.
5. Stop pretending I don’t hear ā€œbath time.ā€

What would your pet’s New Year’s resolution be? 🐶🐱

This season is about giving, gratitude, and love, and we believe that love should include those who don’t have a voice of their own. At LCAH, we see incredible strength, resilience, and unconditional love every single day. Within our community, there are animals facing challenges beyond their control. They don’t ask for much, just comfort, kindness, and care.

That’s why we are proud to have partnered with ARFS (Animal Rescue Financial Support) and Valley River Humane Society to create our Angel Tree.

Each angel on our tree represents a pet who deserves to feel the same joy, surprise, and warmth that this season brings to all of us. They deserve wrapped gifts, full hearts, and the reassurance that they are not alone, just as much as any one of us is.

From now through December 31, we invite you to take part in our Angel Tree. Whether you choose to support one angel or, simply spread the word, every act of kindness makes a difference.

Thank you for being the kind of community that believes every life deserves love, especially during the holidays. šŸ’œšŸ¾

Below are the list of angels on our tree, and their wishlist! If you are able to fulfill their wish- drop offs can be received at 1619 State Hwy 17, Young Harris, GA 30582 or Valley River Humane Society at 7450 US-19, Marble, NC 28905 or contact Rebecca Sterner at [email protected] for pick up.

šŸ‘ļø Your pet’s eyes can reveal a lot!
Subtle signs may signal an eye issue, such as squinting, pawing at eyes, or changes in color or vision.

Regular check-ups and eye exams help catch problems early, like dry eye, cataracts or glaucoma. With early care, your pet can stay happy and healthy.
