I was absolutely not feeling going on our morning walk today. It was rainy and dreary. But Quill persisted, nudging me and giving me the look that says he knows it's time, and I'm so glad we went. It was a little cooler, so we went our full route, and now he's snoozing happily next to me after sniffing all the scents and seeing all the things.

I’ve been writing about lawn care chemicals and dogs since 2013. This week, Quill and I passed another lawn care company — and it reminded me why I keep sounding the alarm.

If your neighbors spray their lawns, your dog (and your kids) are walking through those chemicals. Even if you don’t use them. Sometimes even if your dog never leaves your yard.
